As previously reported, WWE made an overture to Steve Austin regarding him coming out of retirement to wrestle again with his reported opponent being Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that at this time, it’s “not certain” that this will be a match, although there will definitely be a confrontation between the two.
It’s believed that if the match doesn’t happen then the likely end game is Austin at least giving Owens a stunner for talking trash about the state of Texas.
As of this writing, Austin has not agreed to do it as a match, but that could change.
