Newly signed AEW star Stokely Hathaway (formerly Malcom Bivens in WWE) signed with AEW just mere hours after his 90-day no compete clause expired following his WWE release in February. Stokely would debut as a consultant for The Baddies (Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan & Red Velvet) at AEW Double or Nothing 2022.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hathaway turned down a main roster contract from WWE that was worth $250,000. Stokely knew he could get a better deal elsewhere, which was partially why he turned WWE down. The deal was made between AEW CEO Tony Khan and Stokely the day before Double or Nothing.
