In a recent column for Sports Illustrated, Dave Meltzer noted that the preliminary numbers from the top 10 TV markets for AEW Rampage: The First Dance increased by 57 percent from the debut episode of Rampage, which drew 740,000 viewers and a 0.30 rating in the P18-49 key demo.
If those numbers hold, it would mean the show would have drawn between 1.1 and 1.2 million viewers. Obviously, that’s a huge increase and a very good number for a show that airs at 10PM EST on a Friday night, which is traditionally not a good night for cable television ratings. It should be noted that these numbers are not confirmed by any means.
AEW Rampage: The First Dance took place from the United Center in Chicago, IL. The show drew 15,316 fans, which was a legitimate sellout after production was set up. The event also set a merchandise sales record for the company. According to the report, the merch sales topped $200,000.
CM Punk will be appearing on Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite. He’ll also be facing Darby Allin at the All Out pay-per-view event next month. AEW All Out will be held at the NOW Center in Chicago, IL and tickets immediately sold out when they went on sale.
The final ratings for AEW Rampage: The First Dance will be released tomorrow.
