WWE Hall of Famer Charles Wright hopes he can apologize to Stevie Richards over how the latter was treated during their time working together.

Wright, who worked as Papa Shango and Kama, is perhaps best known for his time as The Godfather during the Attitude Era.

In 2000, Wright became ‘The Goodfather’ as part of Right to Censor, a pro-censorship faction led by Richards which parodied WWF’s legal battle with the Parents Television Council.

Speaking to The Universal Wrestling Podcast, Wright was asked about working with Richards. He said,

“One day I’m going to apologize to him for the way that I treated him when I see him. I was kind of a bully to him because I kind of blamed him for me becoming The Goodfather when it was not his fault at all. But I couldn’t blame Vince, but I was kind of a d**khead to him.”

Though Wright won the WWE Tag Team Championship in the RTC, he has stated in interviews that his time in the group was the only time in wrestling he didn’t enjoy what he was doing.

After the RTC split in 2001 (following Vince McMahon’s victory over the PTC), Wright would revert back to being The Godfather at the 2002 Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
