The Rock is considering his options for his future with WWE after his recent run with the company.
Initially planning to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, plans changed due to fan backlash. The Final Boss turned heel and teamed up with Reigns to face off against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, with the heels winning. Rhodes later won the Undisputed WWE Universal Title from Reigns.
WWE has hinted at a future Rock vs. Rhodes match, possibly at WrestleMania 41, while The Rock has expressed interest in returning for the match.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote,
“We were told there was a chance of him doing a match late this year, but the Rhodes match was tentatively for Mania, whether Rhodes is champion or not.”
