The wrestling world is still reeling from the news that Vince McMahon, Michelle Wilson, and George Barrios were elected back to WWE’s Board of Directors.
In July 2022, McMahon announced his retirement and stepped down as WWE CEO, leading to Triple H taking over WWE creative. Vince is back to help with media rights negotiations and a potential sale of the company.
Speaking on In The Zone, AEW President Tony Khan was asked if he’s been following the news of Vince’s return to WWE.
“Yeah, absolutely, I’m following it, very closely,” he replied.
Khan said there is room for both companies but notes what separates the two are the AEW fans, saying they’ve built a loyal fanbase and citing the television ratings.
It was reported last week that WWE hired JPMorgan to advise on a potential sale.
