Tony Schiavone recently took to his “What Happened When” podcast to heap praise on AEW wrestler Big Bill (Big Cass in WWE) for being one of his favorite wrestlers these days. The AEW commentator said,

“Speaking of big guys, I need to say this again. It needs to be said because I really feel very strongly about this. When I first started watching wrestling again in 2017, thanks to you, the first person I saw was Big Cass walk out, and I said to you, ‘Who the f**k is this, and why the f**k is he on my TV screen?’ That’s because I was getting back into it. But now, Big Bill is one of my favorites because not only does he look great, for a big guy, he looks tremendous. He is truly one of the great guys. I thought he and Brian Cage on Rampage just a week ago looked sensational. I thought they had a great match. I even told him so. I told him, I said, ‘Bill, you and Cage against Trent Beretta and Matt Sydal was a great match for Rampage, and it was.’ So props to Big Bill. Good guy, and a New York Yankees fan. I have a lot of time for him.”

In other news, Lio Rush will be facing off against Chris Sabin for the X-Division Championship at Saturday night’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay-per-view event.

Speaking on a recent edition of the “Battleground Podcast” to promote Slammiversary, the former manager of Bobby Lashley opined on what it would mean to capture the X-Division Championship, and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the Motor City Machine Guns: “They are the X Division. They are Impact Wrestling. Going into this match is more than just a statement match to me. It is a dream match, to me, which will quickly turn into a nightmare for Sabin. [Laughs] But this is a dream match for me; I grew up watching the Motor City Machine Guns. I have teamed with the Motor City Machine Guns earlier in my career, so I know how much this match means to me. It’s more than just about the title. Yes, the title is on the line, which is the most important thing, but there are other factors there that make this match a big deal for me, and I’m sure it’s a big deal for Sabin for very similar reasons.”

On what winning the X-Division Championship would mean to him: “It would show everybody that I am here to stay, for one,” he said. “It would show everybody that I have won a title almost everywhere I’ve been. It would be the icing on the cake… I was born to be an X-Division Champion. I am the X-Division.”

On who he would want for his first challenger: “Give me Chris Sabin again, just so I can show people that it’s not a fluke.”
