AEW Dynamite and NXT are set to go head-to-head for the first time in years in a highly anticipated showdown, this time on Tuesday, with both shows stacked to the guilds. But while Dynamite’s “feature attraction” will be the in-ring debut of Adam Copeland, NXT will feature appearances from John Cena, Paul Heyman, Cody Rhodes, and likely The Undertaker.
Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling reports that a WWE source close to NXT says that tonight is intended to be “a very clear example of how and why WWE is WWE, and why AEW has a long way to go.”
Furthermore, there seems to be lingering tension from the past Wednesday Night War. With Paul Levesque (Triple H) back in control of WWE creative and Shawn Michaels having gotten NXT back to the heights it had once achieved circa 2018-2019 with a dramatic turnaround from the NXT 2.0 fiasco, the source notes that AEW seems to have “poked the wrong ones at the wrong time.”
As if that’s not enough, Tony Khan, ever-active on social media, has already made a scathing response to this report, posting an image from the iconic HBO series ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm‘ that reads “bald a**hole,” seemingly referring to either Triple H, Shawn Michaels, or both.
