The Young Bucks have reportedly been involved in the plans for the new AEW Trios Titles for quite some time now. However, this also led to the belief that the rumored winner-take-all match featuring The Bucks and FTR was scrapped.
According to Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW President Tony Khan always wanted The Bucks to be involved in the trios tournament. Although FTR vs. The Bucks was discussed at one point, Khan ultimately decided to go with the original plan to have The Bucks potentially team with Kenny Omega. It was reported that Khan has been awaiting the return of Omega before promoting the new championships. Whether or not Omega returns within the next few weeks in AEW remains to be seen.
