A new report from Fightful Select has offered an update on the current statuses of Toni Storm, Athena (Ember Moon) and Nixon Newell (Tegan Nox).
According to the report, there has been significant interest from AEW talent in Toni Storm signing with the company. Reportedly numerous wrestlers in the company are pushing for Storm to be brought in, with “several talents outright expecting her to land with the company sooner than later.”
With regards to Athena, the former Ember Moon has reportedly had light talks with people within AEW. There was “a feeling out” process between both parties, with this process starting shortly after Athena’s WWE release. As of the time of writing, there is no word on if Athena is set to join the company. Additionally, people within AEW indicated there was no sense of urgency for the company to lock Athena down to a deal.
Finally, it was reported that as of a couple of weeks ago, Nixon Newell was focusing on sorting out her visa situation. With Newell being from the United Kingdom, she is facing the same issues that many international wrestlers based in the U.S face. Newell has yet to step back into the ring since her WWE release back in October of last year.
