Ringside News is reporting that the reason WWE has been giving away big matches on TV and not pay-per-view (PPV) is because Vince McMahon is set on TV these days with broadcast deals on the table. His goal was to land lucrative contracts for both RAW and SmackDown Live, and he has succeeded for at least one of those shows already.
Another reason for this is because the business is evolving, as PPVs don’t mean what they once did. Also, the WWE Network hasn’t had much movement either. Events such as the big four are still expected to be massive events for WWE, but for now the main focus is to make money off the TV shows.
