This week’s episode of WWE RAW featured a segment with CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins.
This led to Punk being announced as the guest commentator for the World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania 40, where Rollins will defend the gold against McIntyre.
Fightful Select is reporting that there was a general outline of the direction the three Superstars were supposed to take instead of following a scripted dialogue word-for-word.
Punk, McIntyre, and Rollins were free to express themselves and see how the audience reacted to their improvisation. Adam Pearce produced the promo segment.
Additionally, the WWE production team was caught off guard by Punk’s use of profanity after a memo was issued to discourage swearing on air.
Despite Punk going off-script, there were no reported issues backstage following the segment.
