On a recent edition of WWE’s “The Bump,” NXT Tag Team Champion Baron Corbin spoke about wanting to face John Cena, years after their last encounter. He said,
“That man cost me my Money in the Bank, he beat me at SummerSlam. I would love one more shot at John Cena in a WWE ring. It’s been a long time, and I owe you a few.”
Corbin won the coveted briefcase in 2017 but thanks to Cena’s interference, would fail upon his cash-in on then-WWE Champion AJ Styles in August 2017.
Cena is no stranger to doomed cash-in attempts. In 2012, he became the first man to unsuccessfully cash in when he failed against WWE Champion CM Punk on RAW 1,000.
Baron Corbin is in his first reign as WWE NXT Tag Team Champion. He and Bron Breakker won the titles back from ‘The Family’ last month.
