On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray critiqued Seth Rollins’ work against Drew McIntyre on the Road To WrestleMania 40.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On Seth Rollins not clicking during his work with Drew McIntyre: “When Seth is by himself now with Drew, or by himself doing a promo, it’s just not clicking. I don’t think that Seth is relatable.”

On the version of Seth Rollins that the fans want: “Once he gets away from that and he starts talking as Seth f***ing Rollins, and he gets in your face and he goes, ‘Screw you, we’re tired of you, the match is on,’ … the people are behind him. Last Friday night was very telling to me about which version of Seth [the fans] want. They want ‘Burn It Down’ Seth. They want the Shield version of Seth.”

On wanting Rock and Reigns to win on night one: “I got to tell you, knowing the stipulation and the repercussions of night one leading into night two, I want Roman and Rock to go over [on] night one. I have no desire — and Dave [LaGreca], you know how much of a traditionalist I am — remember, it was the untraditional style of match that [Kazuchika] Okada and [Kenny] Omega had that brought me to the opinion of, ‘This is not the greatest match I’ve ever seen,’ like you said. I think the Universal Championship should be won and lost in the middle of the ring based on your professional wrestling ability … Not in this one. Give me everything. I want the s**t to hit the fan. I want bells, whistles, run-ins, tables, ladders, chairs, lions, tigers, and bears, oh my.”

On how the storyline could play out over the two nights: “Imagine if, on night one in the tag match, they — Rock and Roman — targeted Cody’s torn bicep. [It] has been put back together, but an injury is never repaired 100%. Injuries have memory just like muscles have memory, and that injured muscle will remember that it was torn at one time… This story, other than one pretty major speed bump, has been told in a great way since day one.”

At WrestleMania 40 (Night One), Rollins will team with Cody Rhodes against The Bloodline’s Roman Reigns and The Rock.

Rollins will then defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 (Night Two).
