In a recent appearance on the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, Sami Zayn discussed challenging WWE Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40 and heading into the title match as an underdog.
Zayn said, “I feel like, in some ways, this is a recurring theme throughout my career — maybe throughout my life, in fact. It’s just like this constant battle to prove yourself, and no matter what you do, it feels like it’s never quite enough. Maybe I’m just one of those people that will always kind of be counted out a little bit. But I’ve learned to make it work for myself throughout my career, so it’s not the first time I’ve been told, ‘You can’t.’ And I also don’t think it’ll be the first time I prove people wrong, because I think that title’s coming home to me in Philadelphia.”
Trick Williams will battle Carmelo Hayes at NXT Stand & Deliver 2024, and Williams took to Twitter to comment on the match.
He wrote, “I played my last snap of football with the Eagles. I took my first bump in Philly. Coming back this time is personal.”

Joe Gacy took to Twitter to direct a message to NXT General Manager Ava Raine, indicating that he wants to wrestle Shawn Spears at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 6.
Gacy tweeted, “Deer @avawwe_ The Mayor of NXT, there are those who say I should maybe have a match with @ShawnSpears in Philadelphia! I mean that’s the city I grew up in! Even if it’s just the kick off I’d love to do this! YOU know how much I love the kick off show! 🙃”
