Triple H opened this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown to clarify that Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes will be the main event of WrestleMania 40.
WWE’s Chief Content Officer was joined in the ring by RAW and SmackDown General Managers Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to address the events that transpired at the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff press conference on Thursday night. The Game admitted that while there was some confusion among fans, the plan is for Rhodes vs. Reigns to headline Night Two of WrestleMania XL.
In his promo, Triple H revealed that some people in the company needed to “know their role” and stop trying to exert their authority when “they don’t really have any.”

In the same segment, Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis announced that WWE SmackDown will have a six-man Elimination Chamber match that will be taking place on February 24th in Perth, Australia.
Randy Orton, Bronson Reed, Kevin Owens, Logan Paul, AJ Styles, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Ivar, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Dominik Mysterio, and LA Knight will all be competing in qualifying matches over the coming weeks. McIntyre defeated AJ Styles in the first qualifier on this week’s show. Randy Orton also defeated Sami Zayn in the main event to qualify for the match.
