Its been an interesting year for former NXT Champion Andrade “Cien” Almas. After being called up to the main roster back in April, as he was drafted to SmackDown Live, Almas was a hot prospect for WWE. He shared the ring with the likes of then-WWE Champion AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan, but soon after the hype behind him slowly digressed.
Almas is now seen less and less on WWE TV. He was recently defeated by Mustafa Ali in a Singles match on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live. Shortly after, Almas’ manager, Zelina Vega, took to Twitter to reflect on Almas’ 2018 in WWE. She noted his loss to Ali isn’t the way they wanted to end the year, but promised 2019 would be much different for the Mexican star:
“This is not how we wanted to end 2018.. Time for me to go back to the drawing board because 2019 WILL NOT be the same. I made this change once, I can definitely do it again. The @WWE universe hasn’t even scratched the surface of seeing what @AndradeCienWWE can really do.”
