Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting!! Welcome to the eWn’s live coverage of the best two hours of professional wrestling every week, AEW Collision! I’m your host, Tathya, and we have a ton of exciting action tonight from Hartford, CT.

FTR will put the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the line against Adam Cole & AEW World Champion MJF on tonight’s show, which should be a fine blend of pro rasslin and some sports entertainment. We’ll also hear from the most polarizing man in the business, CM Punk.

Meanwhile, we’ll also see a Luchas de Aspuestas match tonight as Andrade El Idolo will clash against Buddy Matthews in what should be a terrific ladder match. ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe will also be in action against Gravity, Mercedes Martinez will face Kiera Hogan, while El Hijo Del Vikingo, Action Andretti & Darius Martin will be in six-man tag team action against Bullet Club Gold’s Juice Robinson & The Gunns.

All this, and more, on tonight’s episode of AEW Collision! Stay tuned…

#1. Andrade El Idolo vs. Buddy Matthews (Ladder Match) – Winner: Andrade El Idolo

Solid match and massive win for Andrade to kick off the show!

******

During a backstage interview segment, Miro is suddenly jumped by an attacker. Let’s just say that didn’t turn out too well for the “attacker.”

******

#2. Darby Allin vs. Minoru Suzuki – Winner: Darby Allin

******

The TRUW TNT CHAMPION, Christian Cage appears on the big, and I mean BIIGG screen immediately after the match, saying that it appears as though Darby has finally earned a shot at his TNT title. Christian also brags about making the TNT Championship mean more than it ever has.

******

#3. Samoa Joe vs. Gravity – Winner: Samoa Joe

All Gravity seems to being in AEW is going down…

******

Tony Schiavone, the most handsome man in All ELite Wrestling, is standing by in the ring. And up next… Like Mussolini, Punky Brewster’s here, and the fans are losing their minds, ho-oh… CM Punk is out here in Hartford! Another polarizing reaction, leaning much more toward the positive tonight. “CM Punk! CM Punk!”

Punk starts discussing Ricky Starks, calling him a cheater, before shifting his focus to “the bag.” Je goes on to reveal its contents, the original AEW World Championship belt. He proclaims that the belt belongs on his shoulder, around his waste, on AEW Collision. Pulling out a spray can, Punk paints a huge X over the belt, reminiscent of Hulk Hogan painting “nWo” on the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

CM Punk pulls the old AEW Championship he used to hold out of the bag and says it belongs with him still and it belongs here on AEW Collision. CM Punk also claims he holds the REAL World’s Heavyweight Championship, much like Ric Flair back when he made the first jump to WWE.

He pulls out a can of spray paint and spray paints a big X over it, similar to Hulk Hogan spraying nWo on the WCW Championship back in the day. The X means Punk is straight edge, and that makes him better than you (I concur and hold the same belief).

Ricky Starks comes out to interrupt Punk, before he says he’s gonna head back and come out again, this time with music. Meanwhile, we’ll all pretend like he just didn’t come out yet. Starks comes back out a second time, this time with music, and two a huge pop. As the crowd chants for him.

Starks brags about having beaten CM Punk twice, but Punks asks him whether it was Starks or the referee that beat him. Starks says he’d have beat Punk, even if they could have Stevie Wonder as the referee. The belt, it belongs to him. Punk says it sounds like Starks wants a title shot. Ricky cuts him off and yells in his face, claiming that he doesn’t just want it, he deserves that title shot. There’s a split chant going now.

Punk agrees to a title match, but only if they’re gonna have a special guest referee. Starks says why not, because CM Punk really has no friends in the locker room. In fact, he wouldn’t get any friends even if he got someone from his past or someone right up the road in Stamford.

CM Punk admits it indeed is someone from the past and asks Tony Schiavone to do the honors. It’s none other than WWE Hall of Famer, the legendary Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat! The announcers praise him as an honest and down the middle trustworthy good guy. And that brings this segment to a close.

#4. Juice Robinson & The Gunns vs. El Hijo del Vikingo, Action Andretti & Darius Martin – Winners: Bullrt Club Gold

******

#5. Kiera Hogan vs. Mercedes Martinez – Winner: Mercedes Martinez

Martinez refuses to let go of the choke after submitting Hogan, prompting TBS Champin Kris Statlander to make the save. She focuses on checking in on Hogan though, allowing Martines to grab the TBS title belt and get in a cheap shot on Statlander. Willow Nightingale runs down to make the save.

#6. AEW World Tag-Team Championship: FTR (C) vs. MJF & Adam Cole – Winners:

FTR worked as the heels the first half of the match, going along with the crowd, before the pace picked up and MJF tried to get some shortcuts… The finish saw MJF save Cole from the Shatter Machine and put himself in harm’s way. He did escape Shatter Machine but allowed himself to get rolled up for the 1-2-3! FTR RETAIN! MJF PINNED!!

The crowd just goes silent after the match. Like, ‘when Willow Nightingale comes out’ silent. Cole shakes hands with Cash & Dax. Meanwhile, an irate MJF breaks down sitting in the corner, sobbing. As Harwood and Wheeler make their way back, Adam Cole consoles MJF. MJF says, “I blew it!” Cole replies, “We blew it.” Is all that blowing PG?

Cole grabs MJF’s belt (his AEW World Championship belt, not his actual belt; no blowing here), that Triple Bee Bay-Bee!

As Cole gets up and walks across the ring, MJF pops up behind him, ready to strike him with the Triple B. He is very emotional and conflicted. Cole, still with his back to Friedman, realizes that and tells him to do what has got to do. He stretches his arms, signaling sacrifice. MJF, however, finally throws down the belt. The fans chat “Hug it out!” and COle turns around. Cole and MJF embrace, and the crowd goes nuts, as Ian Riccaboni so eloquently chose to not put it. (Waiting for the low blow…)

No low blow. Their theme plays as Friedman celebrates, histing up the AEW World Championship, that Triple B, Bay-Bee!

There’s plugs for AEW Dynamite 200 and next week’s episode of Collision, and that brings to a close our time together here tonight. Stay tuned to eWn for all the latest news, rumors, results and whatnot from the world of professional wrestling. I’ll be back next weekend for WWE SmackDown & AEW Collision, live! So long folks!
