Here are the full results for the go home episode to “All In” of AEW Dynamite airing on August 23, 2023.

Author Note: For those who have followed my coverage the past few months, I wanted to let you know I’ll be attending All In (not in a work capacity), and plan on sharing my experience sometime next week, so look out for that if it interests you. RIP Terry Funk.

AEW Dynamite Results (8/23/2023)

We’re meant to get a six-man tag between The Elite and Bullet Club Gold, but a fight breaks out, the referee gets knocked out, and Jay White gets involved to tip it in Bullet Club’s favor. Konosuke Takeshita shows up, before FTR evens the numbers. Omega looks for the One Winged Angel on Takeshita, but he escapes just in time.

MJF is with Renee Paquette. She asks him about this Sunday at All In. MJF says he will be really chubbed up to be in front of 80k+ fans. British people love him. This is what us to do. He wants us to get a pint and cheer for him as loud as possible, and he’ll buy them a pint, but not really, because Tony Khan will do it.

This is the most pressure he has ever been under. It is the biggest event in pro wrestling history. He wants to tribute this to everyone who has paved the way. Hulk Hogan, Bruno Sammartino, John Cena, the list goes on and on. If he wins, he becomes a giant himself. They take a look at some footage of him and Adam Cole leading up to this, notably the moments when it looks as if they will turn on each other. MJF says this is new to him. He has never had a genuine friend before. That’s not him trying to work us. He’s your scumbag. He can’t wait to do this with his best friend.

#1. Jon Moxley vs. Rey Fenix – Winner: Jon Moxley by technical submission

BCC look to attack Fenix with crowbars. As Eddie Kingston & Penta make their way to the ring, they are stopped by Ortiz. Behind them, Santana makes his long awaited return. They are enough of a distraction for the BCC to take out Fenix with the crowbars. It looks Santana & Ortiz are joining the BCC for Stadium Stampede.

The doctor takes a look at Fenix. As we reported this week, Fenix cannot travel to the UK (likely a visa issue), so this is AEW’s way of writing him out. Instead, it will be BCC, Santana & Ortiz vs. Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero M & Best Friends.

Contract signing with Chris Jericho & Will Ospreay. Tony Schiavone has it set up in the ring with security. Don Callis arrives with Ospreay, while Sammy Guevara is at Chris Jericho’s side. Callis says he offered Ospreay Jericho’s head at Wembley. He chose the future over friendship. If he can get serious for a moment. A couple of years ago, Jericho nearly died. Well, at Wembley, he will be in Ospreay’s corner to make sure that job gets done.

Will wants to talk. Is he taking this match seriously? Or is it a vanity project? This match will change his life. He has a missus at home and he has news for him, he’s doing an indie match to get enough money to put his kid through school. After he beats him, he will be the only man who can say he has beaten Jericho, Omega, and Okada in two months time. And that bodes well for him, because in six months time his New Japan contract is up.

He knows he is the best wrestler in the world. He is better than The Elite, Danielson, Punk, and him. All of his legacy, he respects it all. But it’s just rocket fuel for him and his future. Ospreay signs the contract. Jericho wants to talk about his future. He does not think he would have accomplished what he has if it were not for him. When the critics were predicting he would be in a wheelchair by the time he was 30, Jericho called him up to ask him to tone it down. He knew he would be one of the top stars in this business.

And now, here we are. Jericho vs. Ospreay. He didn’t need to attack him from behind to get this match. He wanted it for years. This is Wembley. It is the biggest show in pro wrestling history, which means it is the biggest show of his career. This is bigger than WrestleMania or the Tokyo Dome. Ospreay is coming from this from the bottom, while Jericho is coming at it from the top, while every dipshit online predicts his demise.

He has to be the best Will Ospreay to beat him. Prove it to him and his family. Prove it in front of his countrymen that he can beat him, and don’t make him regret calling him up. It quickly gets heated and security step in to split them up.

Adam Cole is shown some footage of the times when he & MJF looked as if they would turn on each, but it just angers him. He tells Renee he can’t believe that people won’t believe that he and MJF are good friends.

#2. Darby Allin & Nick Wayne vs. Swerve Strickland & AR Fox (w/ Prince Nana) – Winners: Allin & Wayne

Swerve Strickland is not happy with AR Fox, so the Mogul Embassy fires him, before Bricn Cage takes him out. Darby Allin forgives AR Fox. He asks Strickland who he has for Wembley? Christian Cage appears.

He talks to Nick Wayne and says he understands that his father was a professional wrestler… who is dead. Christian has never heard of him, so he can’t have been any good. Nick better stay away from All In, because someone he loves will have a coffin closed on them again. If he does it right, he will mentor him after this. It is yet to be confirmed, but it is assumed Christian Cage will partner with Swerve Strickland at All In.

#3. Ruby Soho vs. Skye Blue – Winner: Ruby Soho

The Acclaimed call out House Of Black. The lights go out. They fight until House Of Black get the advantage. As it looks like they will attack Anthony & Max with a chain, “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn comes out. House Of Black backs out. Billy Gunn gets a mic and explains that he was happy to walk away and retire, but they had to attack The Acclaimed and destroy his boots. He wants them at All In, but Daddy Ass won’t be there. “Bad Ass” Billy Gunn is coming!

#4. [ROH World Tag Team Championship] Aussie Open (c) vs. The Hardys – Winners: Aussie Open retains

Aussie Open call out their challenges for All In. MJF & Adam Cole make their way to the ring for a stare down before a fight breaks out. Aussie Open look for the double clothesline, but it backfires. Cole almost kicks MJF by accident, but the champion grabs his leg. There’s a bit of tension, and MJF teases punching Cole with the Diamond Ring, but it ultimately ends with them hugging it out and ending the show on the same page. Or are they? Tune in to All In this Sunday to find out.
