AEW Dynamite Results (3/13/2024)

We open the show with a big moment. The “CEO” Mercedes Mone makes her AEW debut. She revels in the warm reception. Mercedes grabs a microphone and says she is home. She thanks the fans for having her back these past two years. She thanks them for having the courage and strength to be here. Thank you for staying with her through everything. We are going to make so much magic and moments together. Every single fan is the reason she is here.

If they only knew how much tonight means to her, and how much wrestling means to her. Wrestling has changed and saved her life. Wrestling has given her hope, and a place to dream. Legendary people like Eddie Guerrero made her believe she could do it. Her dreams helped her to lead a women’s revolution. She was the first woman to main event a PPV in this very building.

The dream started when she was only 10 years old. She tells her backstory for how she got in to wrestling. If she can do it, then the fans can do it, too. Let’s get down to business. The reason she is here is that she needs to be here. She wants to be here. AEW is the only place where this revolution can be global and they are going to make it happen. She can’t wait to tear it up with everyone in the locker room. But as for Willow, they have a lot of unfinished business. Before we get to that, Mercedes proclaims herself “All Elite”. She thanks Tony Khan and all the fans.

#1. [AEW World Championship] Samoa Joe (c) vs. Wardlow – Winner: Samoa Joe via technical submission

Swerve Strickland shows up to confront the champion, but Samoa Joe smirks and walks away.

Earlier today, The Elite give their thoughts on tonight’s match. They explain that Kazuchika Okada joined The Elite because they are good friends who have helped each other out over the years. Kazuchika Okada sends a warning to their opponents, before forcing the interviewer to sing Happy Birthday to Matthew Jackson.

#2. The Elite’s Kazuchika Okada & The Young Bucks vs. Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo & Pac – Winners: The Elite

Tony Schiavone gets a word with Will Ospreay in the ring. He says the match with Bryan Danielson means so much to him. His enthusiasm for wrestling, no matter what the crowd side, is infectious. After saying he was the best in the world, Danielson told him to prove it. Ospreay talks about the Tiger Driver ‘91. He was asked if it was worth it, standing as the winner. Will said it was.

While he respects Bryan, this match has a saying behind it. “Restore The Feeling”. It is about reminding everyone what AEW is. The best man will walk out the winner. And what he has learned from Danielson is while he can have respect, the moment he steps in to the ring, it is his life or the other guys. His name is Will Ospreay, and he is on another level.

#3. Jay White vs. Darby Allin – Winner: Jay White

White offers a handshake to Allin, but he psyches him out before pointing his hand like a gun to his head. Bullet Club Gold attacks him and looks to take him out for good, but The Acclaimed makes the save. Billy Gunn has to talk a reluctant Jay White around, taking Sting’s bat away from him. When Billy turns around, Jay hits him in the back with a steel chair! The Acclaimed rushes back to save him and a fight breaks out, signifying the end of the Bang Bang Scissor Gang. Bullet Club Gold takes out The Acclaimed and finishes their business by doing what they wanted to do to Darby Allin earlier.

#4. Chris Jericho & Hook vs. Gates Of Agony – Winner: Jericho & Hook via submission

Kyle O’Reilly is ready to return on Collision in a match with Bryan Keith. Roderick Strong gives him his blessing, before telling Kyle he accepts him doing it on his own.

Chris Jericho challenges Hook to a match next week on Dynamite. Hook respectfully accepts.

#5. Willow Nightingale vs. Riho – Winner: Willow Nightingale

The lights go out. Julia Hart appears and distracts Willow long enough for Skye Blue to blindside her. Mercedes Mone enters to even the odds by taking them out, and she shows respect to Willow. The show ends with Mercedes enjoying the spotlight on her own.
