Kazuchika Okada defeated ‘Switchblade’ Jay White to become a two-time IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in the main event of Wrestle Kingdom 17.
The finish of the match saw the five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion counter a Blade Runner with an Enzuigiri. He then hit a Blade Runner of his own on White. Okada followed that up with a Cobra Flowsion and his patented Rainmaker for the pinfall. The match lasted over 30 minutes.
After the match, White put his arm around The Rainmaker in a gesture of respect. After White left ringside, however, Shingo Takagi confronted the new World Champion. Takagi proceeded to issue a challenge to him for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
