Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- Asuka defeated Liv Morgan by submission.
- The Street Profits defeated Angel Garza and Austin Theory by disqualification. Then, Bianca Belair beat Zelina Vega by disqualification. Then, Belair and The Street Profits beat Garza, Theory and Vega by pinfall.
- Aleister Black defeated Apollo Crews (who is now on the Raw roster) by pinfall.
- Cedric Alexander and Ricochet defeated Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch by pinfall.
- Seth Rollins defeated Denzel Dejournette by pinfall.
- Nia Jax defeated Deonna Purrazzo by pinfall.
- Humberto Carrillo defeated Brendan Vink by pinfall.
- “Last night” after WrestleMania, Big Show talked some trash and slapped Drew McIntyre, convincing him to put his newly-won title on the line. McIntyre retained over Big Show by pinfall.
NXT
- Io Shirai won the NXT Women’s Championship No. 1 Contender’s Ladder Match.
- Rinku Singh and Saurav Gurjar defeated Ever-Rise by pinfall.
- Johnny Gargano defeated Tommaso Ciampa by pinfall with help from Candice LeRae, who low-blowed Ciampa.
NXT UK
- This week’s episode was a Rise of NXT UK special clip show.
WWE MAIN EVENT
- Natalya defeated Aliyah by submission.
- Austin Theory defeated Shane Thorne by pinfall.
WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross retained the women’s tag titles over The Kabuki Warriors by pinfall. Later, Carmella and Dana Brooke challenged them to a title match.
- Elias sang about how he plans to win the Money in the Bank this year.
- Dolph Ziggler beat Tucker by pinfall.
- In a Dirt Sheet, it was established that Jey Uso, Big E and The Miz will fight in a tag title match next week.
- The Forgotten Sons are now on SmackDown. They beat Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik by pinfall.
- Tamina came out to complain about how it took everyone to beat her at WrestleMania. Bayley volunteered Sasha Banks to fight Tamina and if Tamina wins, she’ll get a title shot. Banks wasn’t pleased with this.
- Sheamus beat Cal Bloom by pinfall.
- Next week, two MITB qualifying matches will take place. Naomi will face Dana Brooke and Daniel Bryan will face Cesaro. Sonya Deville is also going to try to apologize to Mandy Rose. In two weeks, it’ll be a XXV celebration for Triple H.
- Braun Strowman beat Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall. Then, Bray Wyatt appeared on screen with a Firefly Fun House. He spoke about how Braun turned his back on The Wyatt Family and since he brought him into this world, he’ll take him out of it. Braun wasn’t intimidated and said he’s willing to “let him in” any time.
WWE 205 LIVE
- Tony Nese defeated Danny Burch by pinfall.
- Gentleman Jack Gallagher defeated Oney Lorcan disqualification due to interference by Nese. Burch saved Lorcan from a post-match beating.
NEWS, RUMORS AND MISCELLANEOUS OTHER INFORMATION
- An interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament will begin next week.
- Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson were officially released from WWE.
- WWE is planning to record as many episodes as possible leading into Money in the Bank, which will undoubtedly take place at the Performance Center.
