WWE RAW (10/30/2023)
#1. Ricochet vs. Dominik Mysterio – Winner: Dominik Mysterio
#2. The Creed Brothers vs. Alpha Academy – Winners: Creed Brothers
The Miz hosts Miz TV with Gunther, who doesn’t come out, as Kaiser & Vinci do instead. They tell Miz that he represents everything wrong with the WWE Universe. Giovanni Vinci actually talks, which surprises The Miz. After some back and forth, Gunther enters Miz TV when he feels like it. He is not his guest.
Gunther makes it clear that it is 2023, and he is still trying to run a talk show? Also, the ring is sacred to him, and everything he does here is beneath him. He does not respect The Miz. Ok, so The Miz has heard worse. Let him explain something. He is the biggest star WWE has. Gunther says that is his issue. When the bell rings, it doesn’t matter how entertaining you are. When it matters, it is all about how good of a wrestler you are. This is why The Miz is a talk show host, and Gunther is the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion.
The Miz says he was serious when he beat Randy Orton for his first WWE Championship, and when he main evented WrestleMania. He wants him to understand that he was very serious when he made that same title the most prestigious title in all of WWE. And he has no problem doing it again. Gunther finds that statement funny.
Gunther says they should create a Miz TV moment nobody can forget. Kaiser smashes one of Miz’s pumpkins, and Gunther asks what he will do about it. The Miz tries to take out Imperium, but the numbers game is too much. Gunther says he is not in his league. Imperium boot him in the face and take over Miz TV, so The Miz walks away.
Before the next match, The Miz wants an IC title opportunity after what happened to him. Adam Pearce says he can’t just give him a match, but he can earn a title opportunity by beating Bronson Reed.
#3. DIY’s Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano vs. Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci – Winners: DIY
Shinsuke Nakamura is still looking for a sacrifice. Does he have to choose someone, or will someone choose him? A true warrior steps up. He is waiting.
#4. Candice LeRae (w/ Indi Hartwell) vs. Xia Li – Winner: Xia Li via referee stoppage
Seth Rollins walks to the ring. He has graciously agreed to beat up JD McDonagh tonight. And he will do that in preparation for Crown Jewel this Saturday, when he takes on Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship. Seth is a fan of Drew McIntyre, so he respectfully says… boohoo, cry me a river. He is a big Scottish baby.
Flashback to 2020, everyone was suffering in someway. There were people who had it a lot worse off. Forgive him for not feeling sorry that Drew McIntyre did not win the WWE title how he dreamt it. He wants to blame his failures on The Bloodline, cry him a river again. Get in line with guys like Sami Zayn, Cody Rhodes, and so many more. They aren’t asking for pity.
But he will say this, Drew was one hell of a champion. If he can pry it from his waist, he will shake his hand and call him champ. But he is not the same guy he was back then. There is a reason the people sing his song. JD McDonagh ambushes the champion from behind.
#5. Seth Rollins vs. JD McDonagh – Winner: Seth Rollins
Becky Lynch says that if someone was going to take the NXT title from her, it would be somebody passionate like Lyra Valkyria. She defended that title more than anybody else has defended their title. Xia Li says she was too scared to give her a title shot, and then she lost it. Becky Lynch says if she wants a fight, let’s do it. Xia Li says they will, but on her time.
#6. [Trick Or Street Fight] Natalya vs. Chelsea Green (w/ Piper Niven) – Winner: Chelsea Green
#7. Damian Priest vs. Sami Zayn – Winner: Damian Priest by disqualification after Jey Uso’s interference
After the match, Cody Rhodes hit Cross Rhodes twice on JD McDonagh on the announce table, but it did not go through. Cody Rhodes gets on the mic and questions Damian Priest. He is always walking behind someone else, despite his briefcase bringing him so close to immortality. Cody Rhodes’ story is about him, and nobody else. And next, he will go through him at Crown Jewel.
