WWE RAW (9/18/2023)

Cody Rhodes wants to talk about something, but Dominik appears to let the folks know that when Jey Uso joins the Judgment Day, they will continue to be the most dominant faction in WWE. Mami isn’t here because she was injured by Nia Jax, but she will be back soon. After Dom defeats Cody tonight, he will be dedicating his victory to her.

Cody informs those who didn’t hear what he said. He thinks Dom is way in to her than she is in to him. What’s the deal? It seems that Mami has eyes for Jey Uso. Dom says it’s not like that at all. A family always has each other’s backs. With that cue, Damian Priest & Finn Balor make their way to the ring.

#1. Cody Rhodes vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ Judgment Day) – Winner: Cody Rhodes

Just as it looks like Judgment Day will swarm Cody, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn run to his side. They wanted nothing to do with that and walk away. Kevin calls Cody back to the ring, and he asks him questions after the break.

He understands that Cody brought Jey Uso to Raw. All he wants to know is why he thought it was a good idea to bring Jey to Raw. And not just for him, but for others backstage. Cody says there’s a lot of people who probably already know why. He has had a lot of roles and duties, but his job is to make these people happy. He asks the fans if they like Jey Uso, and they respond positively.

Cody says he is one of the best in the world and deserves a second. They should give him the time to show he has changed. Not to mention The Bloodline, who they are very familiar with, who are now down a member. What is bad about that? Sami Zayn chimes in. He says KO takes a bit more time to trust people. He knows Jey Uso, and the situation he had to dig his way out of, he thinks KO should give him a chance. Kevin has given him second chances, and they won the tag team titles in the main event of WrestleMania.

Kevin Owens says he hears them. He wants him to pretend he didn’t cost both Cody, Sami, and himself many title matches. And he’s also not one shade of eyeliner away from joining the Judgment Day. He can’t trust Jey Uso, but he trusts them, so he hopes they are right. He walks away.

#2. Kofi Kingston vs. Ivar (w/ Valhalla) – Winner: Kofi Kingston

Before the next match, Seth Rollins interrupts Shinsuke Nakamura’s entrance, and goes in pursuit. Nakamura grins while hiding behind security, who ensure Rollins leaves the ringside area.

#3. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Ricochet – Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura by disqualification

Nakamura attacks Ricochet with a steel chair, which brings Seth Rollins back, but security get between them. Shinsuke finds his way through and throws the champion on to the announce table with no remorse.

#4. Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark vs. Chelsea Green & Piper Niven – Winners: No Contest*

*Nia Jax interferes by taking everybody out. She is putting the division on notice.

Damian Priest tells Jey Uso that he has til the end of the night to decide if he will join the Judgment Day or not.

Chad Gable and Bronson Reed have some heated words after Adam Pearce tells Gable he has to earn his way back in to the Intercontinental title picture. They will have a match next.

#5. Chad Gable (w/ Alpha Academy) vs. Bronson Reed – Winner: Bronson Reed with the Tsunami

Becky Lynch wants to give opportunities to young talent, so she is issuing an open challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship. Natalya enters. She has worked her ass off for an opportunity and has been sitting backstage patiently for her chance since taking Ripley to the limit. Becky says she has nothing but respect, but she meant it to be for somebody new. Natalya says she stepped over everyone in NXT and calls her a hypocritical ginger witch. Becky accepts.

#6. [NXT Women’s Championship] Becky Lynch (c) vs. Natalya – Winner: Becky Lynch

Dragon Lee says he is coming for Dominik’s NXT North American Championship next week on RAW.

#7. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Giovanni Vinci (w/ Ludwig Kaiser) – Winner: Ciampa via submission

Seth Rollins thinks he has been going at this all wrong. He tells Shinsuke Nakamura that he can pick the time, the place, and even the stipulation. He’s in control of his destiny.

#8. Jey Uso (w/ Judgment Day) vs. Drew McIntyre – Winner: Drew McIntyre with the Claymore*

*Hit his finisher after Jey Uso superkicked each of the Judgment Day, thereby refusing their offer to join the stable.

Judgment Day gangs up on Jey Uso as Drew McIntyre looks on. He leaves Jey at their mercy. Cody Rhodes shows up to make the save, and fends them off. He & Jey stand tall in the ring with the Judgment Day in retreat.
