Here are the results for the episode of WWE SmackDown airing on October 27, 2023.
Roman Reigns and LA Knight start the show with a contract signing for Crown Jewel. Nick Aldis welcomes us to Friday Night SmackDown. LA Knight wants to get this over with, so he quickly signs the contract. Roman Reigns eventually says that he thinks LA Knight must be stupid to just sign away. He asks if he has ever had a contract signing. Has he ever had a championship match before? He didn’t think so, so he has no idea what he is doing right now. Don’t worry, the Tribal Chief will make it easy.
He signs the contract while the crowd chants “Roman’s Scared”. Nick Aldis wishes them both the best. LA Knight hopes he does take it easy on him. If he thinks that he is already beat. After only a single year he has sat at this table, ready to take his title. He climbed so fast, Roman didn’t know what hit him. At Crown Jewel, he won’t know what happened when LA Knight walks out with his title.
He only needs one time. While he failed over and over again, he was out there telling everyone whose game this is. There can only be one WWE Champion… Yeah! There can only be one me… Yeah! And he will soon take his title away, and that is just a fact of life. Roman Reigns flips the table and starts a fight. LA Knight fights back, and then Jimmy Uso gets involved. Knight puts him through a table as the Tribal Chief retreats.
#1. Carlito & Santos Escobar vs. Street Profits (w/ Bobby Lashley) – Winners: Street Profits after Logan Paul attacked Rey Mysterio backstage and Carlito left the match
Kevin Owens briefly stares down Logan Paul as he walks by. Grayson Waller & Austin Theory ask him if they still have punchable faces. He says he would punch them both if they are lined up properly. After Jamie Noble walks KO away, he returns to punch them both in the face.
In a brief exchange, Cedric Alexander challenges Dragon Lee to a match.
#2. Shotzi vs. Chelsea Green (w/ Piper Niven) – Winner: Shotzi
John Cena comes to the ring. He says there is a special excitement in the building tonight. For him, the energy is a little different. It hasn’t been as serious since WWE almost fired him twenty years ago. He has tried to give his heart and soul, and the fans give their support back. They have given him their respect.
The reason Crown Jewel is so serious is that, for the first time in twenty years, he feels he is in jeopardy of losing their respect. We can’t ignore the math. The crowd chants, “You Still Got It!”. John Cena asks what if he doesn’t? If he keeps losing, he may lose his career. He wants to keep this ride going. There is only one thing left to do at Crown Jewel, and that is a win. Crown Jewel isn’t just must-see, it is must-win. The time has come to dig deep, knuckle up, and deliver.
Paul Heyman interrupts. He is out here with no hustle or loyalty to anything but the truth. He is out here with respect. Heyman offers a handshake and Cena accepts. He thanks John Cena for twenty-one years of sold out arenas. Heyman told Vince McMahon to pick him back in the day, and here we are. He is the greatest communicator of all time.
However, if Solo Sikoa was to hit him with the Samoan Spike, he could no longer do that. Sikoa would take that form of communication away from him. John Cena won’t win at Crown Jewel. And that’s not a prediction, it’s a spoiler. Solo Sikoa blindsides Cena, before hitting him with the Samoan Spike.
#3. Dragon Lee vs. Cedric Alexander – Winner: Dragon Lee
Bianca Belair explains that she is back to take out Damage CTRL as a form of revenge, after they took her out two months ago.
