Seth Rollins (c) v Triple H – WWE World Heavyweight Championship

As it stands, all signs point to an eventual class between Rollins and HHH. With tension building between The Authority and their golden boy, there’s no better place to stage an eventual implosion. As for adding the WWE Championship to the match, this match wouldn’t be enough to main event the marquee event alone, it needs some sort of catalyst to warrant it main eventing the show.

Whilst the background story and in ring performance would be
perfectly fine for the main event of any other PPV, Wrestlemania season is usually the time for the biggest championship match of the year, or a veteran such as The Rock to main event. This match alone doesn’t feel as special as either of them, unless it’s for the top prize. Especially considering it would be the first time we have seen HHH in a title match for about 5 years.

The fuel for this story should be jealousy. There’s been a
lot of backstage bitching between the two, each trying to get the upper hand on who is better. With Rollins actually using Triple H’s pedigree to finish opponents, it adds to the personal side of the potential feud and gives HHH an even bigger reason to put Rollins over, hopefully propelling him as a sort of
re moulded Triple H. Seeing Triple H in one last championship match would be nice and having Rollins squirm and slip his way all the way to ‘Mania with the belt gives Triple H a perfect reason to go for the belt, to finally dethrone Rollins and take away the belt he virtually gave Rollins and last year’s show.

Sheamus (c) v Cesaro – WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Lacklustre? sure. Possible? Yes.

We all know at some point, whether we like it or not,
Sheamus is going to be our WWE champion. A Sheamus cash in looks likely in the next month or so, which leads me to assume we will see Sheamus defend the belt at Wrestlemania. Whilst Sheamus isn’t all bad, there’s just something about the
Irish brawler that doesn’t appeal to me. The reason I think Cesaro will be his opponent is because it’s one of the only matches that would appeal to the majority of wrestling fans; solely because Cesaro would finely get the high profile match and chance fans have been pushing for to see for so long.

Having Cesaro lay low and be a surprise winner of the Royal
Rumble would be a huge moment. The possibility of Cesaro winning the belt would generate a good buzz and excitement slightly similar to when Daniel Bryan had his opportunity just under a year back.

Whilst this doesn’t exactly scream out main event of Wrestlemania, the possibility of Cesaro winning a major championship could make this a bit better.

Seth Rollins (c) v Dean Ambrose v Roman Reigns – WWE World Heavyweight Championship

This is the one you were all expecting to see on the page. The Shield triple threat idea has been the match that most people have been looking at ever since the breakup of the group. With all 3 of the former stable members in around the main event at the moment the triple threat seems a bit more likely this time. If Rollins manages to keep the belt up until ‘Mania then there’s a couple ways they could go about this.

Having one of the baby face duo win the rumble seems to make most sense. Considering Reigns won last year’s edition, I’d say go with Ambrose this year. Depending on who creative would want to walk out with the belt would have to affect this match as well. The likely winner of this matchup is Reigns.
Whether they have Reigns finally capture the title as a baby face to end the show or have him win it as a heel who has had enough of being pushed around and screwed with isn’t clear.

Of course, he may not win the title. But WWE has spent the
best part of a year trying to get Reigns over with the crowd and push him towards the WWE championship. This makes it more likely that Reigns doesn’t turns heel and would try to connect with the crowd after finally achieving his crowning moment. However they decide to do this match, the match itself should
be gold.

Brock Lesnar v The Rock

Rumours are already fluttering round about Lesnar’s Wrestlemania opponent. With the Undertaker feud likely to finish at Hell In A Cell, there are few superstars available with the prestige needed to generate a buzz around a match with Lesnar. Two names that have been popping around lately are Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock.

However, since then, Austin has rubbished reports of him
facing Lesnar and that leaves us with The Rock. Although this isn’t a guarantee, it doesn’t really seem like there’s actually anything left for Lesnar to go for. Many superstars such as Owens, Cesaro, Orton, Ambrose etc have the capability for a great match with Lesnar but, unfortunately, other than Orton
none of the above have the attraction or push needed to main event in this match.

Although, Brock v Rock would be fun, I can’t help but feel
this wouldn’t be a fun main event. The Idea of having both part timers main event seems silly to me as the build up for the match would be poor. Evidence for this point is proven with no real build up since Summerslam for Lesnars
battle with the Undertaker.

Whilst there’s still a long way to go before we hit Wrestlemania, it’s always fun to guess at who will break out before hand and who will get a chance to main event the showcase. Please let me know if there’s any possible main events looking likely at the moment that I have missed, or which main events you would like to see below.
