Breezango have taken The Fashion Files in all sorts of different directions over the past few months in an attempt to find out who was responsible for ransacking their office and attacking them, abducting Fandango, and all sorts of other things, making fun of various different pop culture cop and detective shows.
So far, Tyler Breeze and Fandango have had noir-inspired vignettes, parodied Miami Vice, Law & Order, The X-Files, Twin Peaks and more, but there are still plenty of police/mystery themed shows and movies they haven’t lampooned yet.
Off the top of my head, here are just a few examples of ideas they can parody in the future if this type of backstage segment continues.
Note: To the best of my memory, none of these have been done, but I may have simply lost track of something along the way.
Cops
WWE experimented a bit with the Final Deletion style “out of the arena” type segment with the brawl between The New Day and The Wyatt Family as well as the House of Horrors match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt.
While there were flaws with both of those, this is a comedic thing, so there’s no need to worry about that coming off strange, and Cops is the best hand-held camera following the action that could be used for some kind of segment where they’re on the case and on location as well.
Blade Runner
Is Fandango a Replicant, or not? Can there be 20 different versions of this segment like the Blade Runner film has? How about Vangelis style 80s synthesizer music playing the whole time?
With Blade Runner 2049 coming out in October, there’s no time like the present as far as capitalizing on current trends and trying to maximize people getting the reference.

All we need is the countdown. That’s the main thing synonymous with the show, and it could be even further parodied if they utilize the same style of dialogue and editing the TV series employed to cram as much information and story in to such a short time frame.
21 Jump Street
Fandango and Breeze have to infiltrate a high school, or possibly the WWE Performance Center’s class if you want to keep it wrestling-specific and use the resources more readily available.
It’s a shame there’s been no activity on a third film in the franchise, as this could be a great crossover promotional tie-in if they could score Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill making a cameo celebrity appearance in the segment.
NCIS
This is easily the blandest of them all, as the show doesn’t really have too many standout elements that people would be able to instantly identify more than anything else, but NCIS is on the USA network and frequently the lead-in program for Monday Night Raw, so the network might love to see this kind of camaraderie and inner brand promotion between the two shows.
The only things in particular I can think of that they can do to is call it FASHIONCIS, play off the confusion a lot of people have between NCIS and CSI, and do the signature “thppp” sound while freeze-framing in black and white at the end of the segment like NCIS does for cutting to commercials and at the end of each episode.
Magnum P.I.
Give them both a mustache and a Hawaiian shirt. Done.
Police Squad!
Admittedly, this is pretty hard to pull off. Even fans of Naked Gun would find it difficult to spot that it would be a reference to the series, as it’s basically going into Inception mode by being a spoof of a spoof.
However, Naked Gun is one of the most hilarious films ever made and while I have zero faith WWE could pull off a parody of it, I’d at least be interested in seeing them try to pull off the same type of humor to a more heightened level than they’ve already done.
There can even be a callback to Leslie Nielsen investigating who the fake Undertaker was at SummerSlam 1994.
Training Day
Some of these picks are a little dark, I’ll admit, and this one might be particularly hard to pull off. However, they might be able to squeak by with something as simple as a “King Kong ain’t got shit on me” quote reference (or in this case, the made for TV edit of “King Kong ain’t got nothing on me!”)
Fargo
Give them the right accents and the awkward dark comedy timing along with the proper attire and you betcha this could be fun for a one-off when they’re in Minnesota, yah.
The Departed
First things first, the production designer who would be setting this up needs to intentionally places X marks over different people before they get attacked backstage, as fans of the film will get the reference.
Also, since so much of The Departed revolved around finding out who the rat is and The Ascension just happen to have Konnor in their ranks, who previously had a rat gimmick in the early days of NXT, there has to be some kind of callback to that.
RoboCop
Hey, if RoboCop can make a guest appearance at Capital Combat to rescue Sting, he can show up to lay down the law.
I’d buy that for a dollar, wouldn’t you?
Face/Off
It will be hard to take this movie and make it even more ridiculous, as the film itself is ludicrous in so many fantastic ways. The premise behind it is simple enough that it can be pulled off on a cheap budget where they can wear Halloween masks of other wrestlers on the roster or something.
Key to selling the joke, though, is that someone needs to release doves at some point, John Woo style.
Dick Tracy
Although they already did the detective noir tropes, there’s a little flexibility in going back to the well to pull off this particular spoof if they make sure they have one of the two of them in the trademark yellow fedora and coat.
Even though we can’t have tommy guns on WWE television, there’s nothing stopping the writers from making some jokes about the appearances of people on the roster like how the villains tended to be named after their ugly looks.
Dick Tracy had characters like Flattop and Pruneface, so just imagine the jokes that can be made at the expense of “Chinless” James Ellsworth, Lana as the ravishing femme fatale, etc.
