Deonna Purrazzo is a young and seasoned professional wrestler, who is giving the independent scene a bright future. She is well known for her extreme work ethic througout the industry, which has been the catalyst for her rise to fame in such a short period.

Many wrestlers set forth a lifelong dream of becoming a professional wrestler, but many fall short. Deonna has shown so much resilience in such a short time that it already earned her an opportunity to work the TNA One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown pay-per-view May 2014 where she wrestled against Brooke Tessmacher. What an outstanding achievement for the 20 year old prodigy. This is just the beginning page of what looks to be a long chapter in her book of future success.

By following the Independent Circuit and reading about the wrestlers and their storied careers, I am able to catch up with some of them and conduct an interview from time to time, which allows them to share with us their story. Recently I was able to catch up with Deonna and she was gracious enough to put a halt to her busy schedule to discuss his career, future, and accomplishments. This is what she had to say.

When did your pro wrestling career begin?

My pro wrestling career began when I began training with Damian Adams and Robbie E in December 2012.

What federations have you worked for along the way?

I have been fortunate enough to have been able to travel throughout the majority of the East Coast and Mid-West. I have also been able to work as extra talent for WWE, numerous times, and was featured of TNA One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 2014.

How could you explain the life of an independent wrestler?

Life as a wrestler is something I’ve always wanted to be a part of. I am currently a full time college student, I work as a preschooler teacher, I train 3 days a week, wrestle every Friday & Saturday, and am in the gym 5 days. I would definitely call life as an independent wrestler hectic, but with a great group of supporters around you, it is doable!

Do you pay attention to other federations or follow other wrestlers?

Absolutely! I think it’s important to keep up on different products and learn from all different types of wrestling and different psychology. I love seeing what the women of NXT bring to the table each week!

What would be your dream match?

I grew up idolizing Trish Stratus & Lita, so if ever the opportunities presented to wrestle them it would be
a dream come true. I also would be honored to get in the ring with Sara Del Ray or Serena Deeb, who are both women I look up too for their in ring abilities.

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment in the sport of professional wrestling?

I haven’t been in professional wrestling that long so I haven’t accomplished a lot but I would say that my biggest accomplishment would be training at OVW with Rip Rogers, something I have always wanted to be able to do.

What is your most memorable match?

My most memorable match would be the first hour match had with Mike Mondo at a Rip Rogers seminar.

Who are/were some your favorite wrestlers and why?

Growing up I loved watching Evolution, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero. But as I started training and look at wrestling from psychology and being able call a match, no planning, etc. I study more of William Regal, Ric Flair, Mr. Perfect, Bert and Owen Hart; just to name a few. Those are some of the wrestlers I really try to emulate within my matches.

What needs to be accomplished in your eyes to be able to look back and call your career a success when it’s all over?

Honestly, nothing. Wanting and becoming a professional wrestler has been a lifelong dream of mine. My biggest accomplishment was the day I first stepped foot inside of a wrestling ring. This has translated to my success, which in my mind makes it all worth it. Everything else I’ve been able to do is just icing on the cake.
