Impact Wrestling (7/29) Results: TNA Hall Of Fame Induction

Impact Wrestling opens up with Austin Aries. The former world champion grabs a mic and says he’s not in a good mood. He says nobody cares more about professional wrestling than him. He claims nobody in the universe is better than him. He expresses disdain for not being considered in the world title picture. Bully Ray makes his way out.

Ray says the fans think he’s doing a good job, so he doesn’t care what Aries thinks. He says he thinks Aries is one of the best wrestlers in the world. He then goes to say Aries’ mouth gets him in trouble. Aries suggests he and Roode get a rematch for the tag titles. Ray says the team already lost a Best of 5 Series. Ray offers him an X Division title shot. Aries says he’s been there, done that. He says the belt is for guys like Rockstar Spud, who will never be world champion.

Spud makes his way to the ring and says he looks up to Aries and is hurt by his comments. Aries makes a sarcastic apology. Spud says Aries has overachieved and is the most decorated champion in TNA. Spud says he paved the way for guys like him. Aries says he only created Option C for himself. Aries claims Spud would’ve never beat Kurt Angle for the world title. Aries challenges Spud to a match next week. Spud says that Aries may be a multiple time champion, but says he can beat Aries. Aries then says if he can’t beat Rockstar Spud, he doesn’t belong in TNA.

Ray says all Aries wants to do is kick sand in Spud’s face. He says why doesn’t Aries put his money where his mouth is and leave TNA if he loses. Aries adds a stipulation to where if he wins, he takes the “Rockstar” name. Aries nails Spud in the jaw with a punch and leaves the ring.

Jeff and Karen Jarrett are seen walking in the parking lot and they hug Mike Tenay. We cut to Kurt Angle and Chris Melendez having a conversation in the back. Angle says he never liked Eric Young and calls him a crazed lunatic. He thanks Melendez and calls him a good man. Melendez says he can’t move forward until he can overcome EY. Angle says he has to go after EY.

-Commercial Break-

TNA hypes another message from Tigre Uno directed at Donald Trump.

Melendez walks down the aisle with Angle. Melendez acknowledges EY has got the better of him so far. He says he refuses to quit just as he didn’t quit fighting for his country. He says he wants a rematch with EY and demands he comes down the ring. EY makes his entrance.

EY suggests Melendez is confused due to the number of piledrivers he has received. He says Melendez better quit while he’s still breathing. Melendez says he wants to beat EY’s ass.

Singles Match: Chris Melendez (w/Kurt Angle) vs. Eric Young

Melendez gets some advice from Angle before the match begins. EY gets behind Melendez and slaps him around. Melendez then slams EY down and Young looks a bit concerned. EY slaps Melendez, but Melendez returns the favor twice as hard. EY began to dominate the match with some ground and pound. Melendez tried mounting a comeback with forearms, but a rake to the eyes followed by a piledriver put an end to that.

Winner: Eric Young

-Commercial Break-

Jeremy Borash interviews Matt Hardy in the back, who is talking to someone in his private room. He says “we” have some ideas that Impact Wrestling fans are going to enjoy for the stipulation in his world title match with EC3.

TNA Knockouts Title Match: Brooke © vs. Marti Bell (w/Taryn Terrell and Jade)

Brooke pops Jade and throws her to the stairs before the match begins. Brooke then clotheslines both Bell and Jade and forces Taryn out of the ring. Bell takes advantage of the situation and the match begins with the challenger having the advantage.

Bell slams Brooke’s face on the mat. Brooke fights back with kicks and forearms. She hits a swinging neckbreaker, but fails to get a three count. Bell pulls Brooke’s hair and slams her down. Brooke mounts a comeback with clotheslines and a flying forearm. She connects with a Russian leg sweep, but is unable to get the three count. Brooke spears Bell, but Jade distracts the ref. She tosses Jade inside the ring, but Terrell pulled Brooke down by the hair as Earl Hebner was distracted.

The lights go out and it’s Gail Kim’s video playing, which distracts the Dollhouse. Brooke hits the Butterface Maker to retain her title.

Winner and still Knockouts champion: Brooke

-Commercial Break-

TNA aired more footage of Tigre Uno in his hometown. He talks about being happy to be a father and they showed him putting a mask on his daughter. He says TNA is a huge advancement for him and he is proud to be a part of the company. He talks about the importance of lucha libre and being X Division champion.

We cut to Christy Hemme interviewing Uno. The X Division champion says the Mexican people are people of action. He says he offered Donald Trump a chance to face him. He says he and the Mexican people are not afraid of people like him.

EC3 is in the back with Tyrus. He says he has bigger things to worry about than what Matt’s stipulation will be for their world title match.

-Commercial Break-

Jeff Jarrett is in the back chatting with Billy Corgan. We are then taken to EC3 and Tyrus heading to the ring.

EC3 claims Bully Ray duped him into letting Matt pick the stipulation for their match next week. He calls Bully Ray a New York egg sucking asshole. He then calls the Hardy Boyz hillbillies from North Carolina. EC3 laughs at Jeff breaking his leg in an accident involving his moped. EC3 says Matt isn’t world champion material. Jeff Hardy’s music plays and he walks down the ramp.

Jeff talks about being emotional while doctors put his leg back together. He says EC3’s overconfidence is going to kill him. He says he’s feeling the healing and is afraid of never wrestling the same. He then says he’ll go from jogging to becoming the world champion once again. He says this reign of EC3 needs to end and Matt will end it. Matt makes his way down the aisle.

Matt lets Jeff reveal the stipulation for the world title match. Matt pulls out a table, a chair, and a ladder. It’ll be Full Metal Mayhem at No Surrender with no one being allowed at ringside.

-Commercial Break-

Borash is back and he interviews Magnus and Mickie James. Magnus says it should be a celebration for Mickie making her return to TNA. He says it’s a fight against someone who tried to tear down their family. Mickie thanks the people for making her agree to do one last match. She says she can’t believe Serena was brainwashed by Storm, but she will beat her ass for her family.

Mixed Tag Team Match: Magnus and Mickie James vs. James Storm and Serena

Mickie immediately goes after Serena and Magnus pops Storm. The match is taken to the outside. Magnus chops Storm and levels him with a couple of punches before throwing him back in the ring. Serena distracts Magnus and Storm rakes his eyes. Just when Magnus was gaining his steam back with a clothesline, Serena caused another distraction. Mickie attempted to chase Serena, but was stopped by referee Brian Hebner.

Storm was gaining the advantage on Magnus inside the six-sided ring. Storm applied a rest hold on Magnus as he headed for the break.

-Commercial Break-

Storm connected with backstabber off yet another distraction with Mickie chasing Serena. Storm blows a kiss at Mickie. Eventually, Magnus and Storm collided. Mickie and Serena were tagged in and Mickie pounced on her “former friend” with a clothesline, a flying forearm, and a dropkick. She went up the top turnbuckle and landed a Lou Thez press. She attempted the pin, but Storm pulled her by the hair.

Mickie broke away with a slap. Serena nailed Mickie with a gutbuster and Magnus speared Storm. Serena called for Khoya before she went back to brawling with Mickie. Khoya missed Magnus and hit Storm with a stick. Magnus sends Khoya over the top rope and hits a powerbomb on Storm. Serena jumps on Magnus’ back, but he sends her crashing down. Mickie followed up with a jumping DDT for the victory.

Winners: Magnus and Mickie James

After the match, Mickie planted Storm with a jumping DDT and kissed Magnus.

-Commercial Break-

Bram is in the back. He demands a match against Mr. Anderson for next week. He says he suggests he tells his kids he loves them, but goodbye. He claims there’s no way Anderson is going home.

Mike Tenay is in the ring and introduces TNA president Dixie Carter. She makes her way out with the TNA Hall of Fame watch in a box. She talks about Jeff growing up in the business and how one could say TNA is in his DNA. She introduced Jeff, who came out with his wife Karen.

-Commercial Break-

Carter presents Jeff with his watch and he hands it to Karen and grabs a mic. He thanks anyone who has been a TNA consumer or customer. He also thanks anyone who has ever received a paycheck from TNA. He gives thanks to Bob and Janice Carter while being very emotional. He thanks people he’s worked with in Dallas and

Nashville as well as the production crew. He gave thanks to Mike Tenay and threw a joke Don West’s way before thanking him as well. He says Tenay and West mean the world to him before getting to the wrestlers. He puts over the X Division and how it put the company on the map. He gave props to the knockouts, the tag teams and the main eventers over the years.

He ended up thanking Dixie Carter. He says without Dixie saying yes, Jarrett wouldn’t be in the TNA Hall of Fame and mentions his family. He talks about reconciling with his father six weeks ago after years of being estranged over the TNA business. He got very emotional and talked about his kids and how he’d be nothing without them. He turns to his wife and how she has stood by her despite her mixed emotions. He wrapped it up by thanking the fans and saying he is proud to be inducted in the TNA Hall of Fame 2015.

Jeff is greeted by the some of the TNA roster on the ramp as Impact Wrestling closes.
