The beautiful thing about television is that no matter what little
talent a person has, as long as their willing to sink to new levels of grand standing
they’ll get paid. I’m not going to go into the whole Nancy Grace thing,
anything on CNN or HLN is complete garbage to begin with. But why do we as fans
get so enraged about these type of people. If Jerry Springer said this, would
you even bat an eye at this? Is it because she’s a lawyer, a talking head on
TV, what is it that makes you think that anything she has to say has an ounce
of legitimacy. This idea that lawyers
are intelligent is crap. If lawyers were these great bastions of knowledge our
country wouldn’t be going down the tubes (look at Washington.) Is it because she’s
a talking head on TV? I could find ten people down at the psych ward right now
that could be as coherent and as articulate as Nancy is right now, and probably
have a better understanding of current events.
We as people hear moronic ramblings everywhere, every day. Just
walking down the street, why are so offended by a women that we would slap if
she came by our children. The difference between Nancy Grace and a prostitute,
is that a prostitute is honest about what she is, and people like hookers (Just
look at the late great murdering rapist Ted Kennedy. Don’t believe me just ask
the family of Mary Jo Kopechne, Oh right CNN doesn’t like
talking about). We as fans put to much stock in the mainstream media. When was
the last time you saw real journalism on TV. I’m not talking about love triangles
gone wrong (Dateline), not opinions (every news channel), not semi retarded people
giggling about baby panda bears (Good Morning America). Real journalism.
Wrestling is often criticize for pandering to the lowest common
demographic, but what about them? Come election time you’ll hear sound bites
and quotes about stats from poverty to taxes, but do any of these news organizations
ever investigate these claims? No … never … that’s too hard for them. The news media
has degenerated to nothing more than a lynch mob. I.E. Public figure said something
that hurt the feelings of someone in some social class, so the organizations
for advancement of turkey lovers and NBC news bash that public figure till he can’t
walk into an Arby’s anymore.
We used to categorize cars salesmen as slimy, lie spewing, loudmouths.
But the truth is our news media has assumed that role. Should we be scared
about that? YES… YES…. YES….. If we don’t have an honest news source, how can
we function as a society? If you really want to sick it to Nancy Grace, when
someone talks about her or her show, just tell them that you don’t like
watching that type of sensational journalism. If you take that stance, after
time so will others.
As for Owen, we all know the tragic truth of his death. And
no yellow journalist can take that away.
So in closing, Nancy Grace and the heel performers
at ESPN, when you get on your soapbox and tell the whole wide world what
garbage professional wrestling is. Look down and see the crap that you have
been living in for all these years.
