So the time has got to be approaching for a huge change in wwe. We have John Cena, Randy Orton, Big Show, Mark Henry, Brock Lesnar, Batista and Kane who could all see the end of their careers approaching fast. I know I’ve also included a couple of part timers in there. I find it hard even imagining a wwe without these wrestlers but it has to happen at some point (something I’d love to see happen now!). It’d be interesting to see a storyline where a few of these all retire at the same time, making way for the new generation.
I think we have seen just about every possibility regarding these wrestlers, hell in a cell matches, ladder matches, numerous title matches and main events. Is there anything left for them to accomplish? I know Cena obviously sells a ton of merchandise so is incredibly valuable to wwe, maybe keep him on in some sort of role, but the new wave needs to be let loose.
The new wave – Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Bray Wyatt, Rusev, Ziggler, Barrett, Cody Rhodes, Sandow, Sheamus, Ryback, with the possibility of a couple from nxt to join them in time. Also you would have: Harper and Rowan, the Usos, Fandango (if they changed his gimmick maybe?) Adam Rose (same as Fandango!) Bo Dallas, Big E, Kofi, R Truth, Tyson Kidd etc. I know a couple of those need a bit of work (Ryback to name one) but what a roster they have right there!
Why doesn’t wwe let these guys loose and go for it? Title matches and good solid feuds that last a couple of months a time. The possibilities are endless. Imagine Cesaro winning the rumble in January and going on to face someone like Reigns at Wrestlemania? Just writing that down seems ridiculous, is it ever going to happen? (Maybe not Cesaro vs Reigns but any combination of those main eventing Wrestlemania). I just can’t picture a world without Cena and Orton, which sort of makes me sad as they’ve been main eventing for so many years. Imagine if Cena got injured on Raw next week, what would happen then? (Blind panic from everyone at wwe!) Who would walk into his main event spot? I suppose we would have to imagine Orton and Kane and all of the first line of wrestlers I mentioned being injured aswel, as knowing wwe they would put one of those in!
It’d be great (not to see those injured) but to see one of these future stars stepping up and running with it. Have their breakout moment and become a main event star. Who do you think should win the wwe championship first out of the above list? Not who you think WILL win it first (possibly Reigns with the way he’s being pushed) but who you would like to see given a shot at running with the title. If Reigns were to win the title at Wrestlemania next year I’d personally like to see a Reigns vs Wyatt feud for a couple of months before possibly moving to a Reigns/Rollins/Ambrose. Hell if I was a booker the way I’d do it would be: Ambrose to win the Rumble but also Reigns to beat Lesnar at the Rumble and Rollins inserting himself into the main event with his powerful briefcase! Get this match, which I think everyone wants to see, on the biggest stage of all! I’d have Ambrose win it, and go on to have a feud with Rollins, and have Rollins and Ambrose go at it. Then possibly another triple threat match at Summerslam. Then after that you could start to bring others into the picture – Rusev maybe?
When wwe finally decides to pull the trigger on the new wave, it’s hopefully going to be the start of something special.
