*SPOILERS* This article may contain spoilers for TNA Sacrifice 2014.

Hello there wrestling fans! Welcome to the 4th edition. I stayed up late last night to watch TNA Sacrifice, and I liked the show. It wasn’t completely amazing, but it didn’t completely suck either. Let’s venture into the results and what they mean going forward.

I made predictions in my previous article, edition #3, and I have to say, the results were somewhat predictable, as I got six out of eight match outcomes correct.

  1. The Wolves became two time TNA World Tag Team Champions – I saw this coming, it just had to be done. TNA has done right by having the best tag team they have holding the gold. The only problem is, going forward, who can challenge them? The Bromans again? It’s not like Bad Influence can challenge them either as Daniels is not renewing his contract. The Wolves sit firmly on top of a division that has become sparse and almost non-existent. Beer Money anyone?
  2. Mr Anderson defeating Shaw is something I did not predict. –  I wanted Shaw to get revenge on Anderson for trespassing in his house, and in his bedroom. This would have led Christy to having to find somebody else to keep Shaw away from her. Does Samuel Shaw escape from the mental institution now? Where can the storyline go from here?
  3. Kurt Angle/Willow vs EC3/Spud was a novelty match, and a complete one-sided affair. – Willow took most of the damage on their team, and it appears Angle is still recovering from his injuries. What was great about this match, was that the crowd were firmly behind Rockstar Spud. They wanted to see him wrestle Kurt Angle, but he had to play into his character and act cowardly. I feel like Rockstar Spud is getting over with the fans because he is such a natural character. The fans don’t seem to care for EC3, which is a shame, because he is putting the work in. I don’t think he can generate heat as well with Spud by his side.
  4. Sanada/Uno was reminiscent of times gone by where the X-Division meant something. – Seriously, you can’t be much of a wrestling fan if you decided not to care for this match. This is one of the reasons to watch TNA right now, and Sanada is showing passion like only a Japanese wrestler can. He is a warrior, he is obsessed, and can you seriously see anybody taking that title off him soon? Not a chance. Sanada is the X-Division going forward.
  5. Gunner/Storm was everything I thought it would be, and I got the prediction wrong. – I assumed that Storm would find a way to make Gunner say “I Quit”, but before the match, my Father said to me that Gunner would never say “I Quit”, because he is a former soldier and they are trained never to quit in any circumstance. He was indeed correct. This match was brutal like always, very heated, and it’s going to be sad to see this feud end, because it has been a definite highlight.
  6. Angelina Love is the new record holding six time Knockout’s Champion. –  I called this right away, there was no chance that Madison was keeping it after the buildup for The Beautiful People. I predicted that Brittany would somehow get involved, but she didn’t! What was the point in having Madision reminding Brittany to not get involved? Waste of TV time? Future angle maybe? Regardless, Velvet Sky did the classic Beautiful People hairspray trick to help Love win. As if Madison fell for that, she should have known better.
  7. Roode/Bully was as I expected it to be. –  I still find it difficult to get behind Bully Ray, he was such a hated heel, but I guess the crowd love it when he “gets the tables”. I knew Roode would win here, but how, exactly, I had no idea. I have to be honest, when the guy pushed Bully Ray through the table, I thought it was Spike Dudley. I began marking out as I tried to make out who it was. I always loved Spike, so you can imagine my face when it turned out to be Dixie! This has to be greatest heel move Dixie has ever pulled off, I laughed so hard when she was revealed, they did a really good job with her makeup.
  8. Main Event: Eric Young retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. – What struck me about this match was the quality, both men tried to outwrestle each other, it was a decent main event. They let EY/Magnus have plenty of time to work, and it was a good end to the night. What struck me the most though, there was NO INTERFERENCE! Sorry for the caps lock, but how many times have we seen someone interfere in the main event of a TNA PPV? I was expecting an Abyss run in, or a Samoa Joe run in, but no, nothing. We almost had cheating by Magnus near the end, but “Showtime” Eric Young soon put a stop to that. Two piledrivers and an elbow drop to finish.

Sacrifice had good match quality, new champions, and a main event with no stupid ending. What was bad about it, was that the overall presentation of the show was lacking. Just like other recent TNA PPV, it felt like a glorified Impact. TNA needs to do a little more to show that these events are special, not just by the hype videos, but by the overall presentation of the ring and other aspects. There are little things they can do to PPV so they have more grandeur.

I want to move away from TNA now, and talk about tonight’s Monday Night Raw.

What can we expect? We have another PPV coming up soon, and barely any time to build up feuds. We can expect Daniel Bryan to make a big statement tonight, as he returns from his fake injuries. Bryan needs to get some revenge on Kane tonight.

Expect a huge clash between Evolution and The Shield. Evolution will know what The Shield did on Smackdown, and will want to try something different to surprise them. The Shield needs to find a way to look strong against Evolution, not just their cannon fodder.

John Cena will respond to Bray Wyatt’s Smackdown comments. I feel like Bray Wyatt absolutely needs to beat Cena in the Steel Cage, but he has looked too strong lately, so expect Cena to worry Wyatt in some fashion tonight.

The final thing I wish to comment on, Wade Barrett will become the new number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. News going around is that WWE officials are high on Barrett and his bad news gimmick, even Vince McMahon is meant to be a big fan of his work. Rob Van Dam will put Barrett over tonight, however, Barrett needs to begin playing the brutal heel we know he can be. Barrett needs to generate heat so the fans will cheer for Big E when they clash.

Thanks for reading everyone. I shall return tomorrow with my thoughts of tonight’s Raw. Have a lovely evening.
