IT’S TIME!!!!!!!!!

Time for a new era that is…

UFC has had an amazing 2015 and proved that UFC President Dana White is the best promoter on planet earth.

This is because Dana White is outdoing Vince McMahon at his own game, and that is “entertainment” and “promotion”.

I am not talking “matches” here as they are two completely different things, one’s real one’s scripted. I’m talking the over all presentation and feel. The UFC productions just look so much better than the WWE’s outdated and cheap presentations. There was once a time when Vince would set the standards promotional wise and let’s not forget it was Vince who created the blueprint for the entertainment businesses pay-pay-views. With the rest following near after including WCW, Boxing, MMA and so on…

The hype UFC build until the following PPV is what a WWE event should be like with longer marketing of the events. WWE are killing the PPV’s having one every two week or so. They could still have a big match every month on a special edition RAW, but they MUST go back to having PPV’s every two to three months like the old days. That way it gives fans much more anticipation and build up to the match over a 6-8 week period creating a buzz and vibrancy to the way it showcases the actual event that’s to come.

It also gives the WWE Champion legitimate time with the strap and makes the title more relevant. Why is it only WrestleMania gets these type of builds? They need to slow things down in order to restructure the brand and build these guys up as we all know WWE are in for some testing times. They really do struggle building new stars and the belt is thrown around like a hot potato which is not good for business as fans are still going to be tuning out in droves.

Yes, they put on an ok show on Monday’s Raw but will they follow that up this week? I don’t think so. I think WWE really need to drop this Pg Era and copy the way UFC presents it’s builds and fighters, forget the kiddie sponsors and move on to the major brand sponsors. This is the new era WWE need to follow and thinking about it, it could out-do the Attitude Era and become WWE’s greatest Era of all time if done right.

Give us more reality based storylines so the fans can invest more into the character and the feud, this way it would help us be emotionally attached with whats going on and the matches that awaits. If the characters we’re watching are not fully developed and they’re being thrown onto the main event een based on good looks, how are we supposed to invest in that? Lucha Underground also has similar ideas and format to the UFC presentation, it’s the new way forward and WWE need to realize this. They still have men/women working at WWE who’s been there since the early 80’s late 90’s and this shows on how it’s product is presented.

UFC presents narratives in documentary style productions. Things like UFC Embedded and UFC Countdown are put on to get characters over. WWE should be doing these type of shows on the WWE Network and let us really get to know the characters personally. It is like you are getting to know the actual person, getting to like them or getting to hate them and wanting to see their ass kicked. Yet what you are actually seeing is ‘characters’ that the UFC are producing to get over in a certain way, this is exactly what WWE need to do with their characters.

What Dana White did at the beginning was come along and practically copied WWE’s format of entertainment reality and mixed that with real wrestling/martial arts. He gave his fighters “characters” and tells them to play off of it. You see this with Conor McGreggor right down to the ring announcer Bruce Buffer, who both play their parts exceptionally well. These type guy’s have been around forever, it’s only since UFC copied the blueprint from wrestling that now they’re recognized globally.

Ironically, it is now the WWE who could learn from the UFC’s way of doing things and that includes copying the format and build up to matches. Now is the time for WWE to rush in this new era and embrace UFC’s philosophy and presentation. Thanks for reading… Good fight, and good night.
