What are you Most Excited about on WrestleMania Week 2023? Monday Morning Q&A

Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.

So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!

1) Out of Multiverse United, ROH Supercard of Honor, NXT Stand & Deliver, the WWE Hall of Fame, and both nights of WrestleMania 39, which show are you the most excited to see this week?

Despite its flaws, I’m still more excited about WrestleMania than anything else. Since WWE hasn’t bothered to explain which matches are on which night, it’s hard to tell which of the two will be better. But in a general sense, the matches I’m most excited for are the two with The Bloodline, so if The Usos vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn is on the second night with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, my vote goes to night 2.

2) Are you expecting any more matches to be announced for WrestleMania at the last minute on Raw, SmackDown or on social media? If so, what do you think will be added?

I do think we’ll get something else added to the lineup for Bobby Lashley to do. Either they follow through with the Bray Wyatt stuff or there’s an alternative in mind, I think having him in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal is a bit odd.

But in doing so, I don’t think we’ll get the announcement until SmackDown itself, AFTER the ATGMBR. Maybe something happens in that match that leads to it. Then again, maybe they do what they’ve done before and just say “Breaking news. Lashley is going to face blah blah.” and that’s it. They’re lazier and lazier sometimes.

Other than that and the final women’s tag team in the showcase match, I don’t think there will be any other changes to the card.

3) Who do you think will win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (and if you think someone else SHOULD win, who would you rather that be?)

He’s missing from the graphic, so he might not even be competing in it, but I maintain from my previous posts on the topic that it should be Solo Sikoa. The Bloodline should lose their titles (both The Usos and Roman Reigns), so having Sikoa go into the show with a win for the faction helps offset that.

If not Sikoa, and we’re sticking to the people just in the graphic, I think the best choices come down to LA Knight, Lashley and Karrion Kross. The one who needs it the most would be Kross, and since I hope we get to see something with Knight and Lashley at WrestleMania (but hopefully not Bray Wyatt, as that “feud”, if you can call it that, has been absolutely atrocious) instead, I wouldn’t double-up with them. But if that isn’t going to happen, I’m fine with any of those 4 winning. That probably means they’ll give it to Top Dolla or someone and we’ll all be left scratching our heads.

4) Do you want CM Punk back in AEW? Should AEW try to work something out with him? Is it a lost cause?

Cut ties. It’s over. Whether I agree or disagree with some of his complaints, I think the environment would just be too toxic. If everyone is getting along (if) without him, bringing him back in isn’t going to be worth the headaches. It will just cause strife in the locker room for someone who isn’t going to draw any more money for the company than he already has and can’t be expected to wrestle on a regular basis considering his injury-prone status at this point in his career.

I’d just let him out of his contract and be done with it by now if I were TK. One less thing to deal with and worry about.

5) When someone says “WrestleMania”, what is the first thing you think about? Is it any particular match, moment, theme song, entrance, promo, celebrity appearance, or anything else?

Given the context of the situation, it might change, but in a very general sense, I usually tend to think back to when I was a kid. I’m a product of the New Generation and early Attitude Era time frame. I would rent all the old events on VHS at Blockbuster, and I used to love the old theme they would use that eventually became Linda McMahon’s. Normally, if someone just says the name WrestleMania and I conjure something in my head, it is the old school logo that they used for the first few years, with that song in the background, and maybe a visual of Bret Hart being hoisted up on everyone’s shoulders at WrestleMania 10 or Shawn Michaels posing with the belt at WrestleMania 12.
