Welcome to WWE NXT, highlights of NXT Takeover: Respect are shown.
NXT Women’s Champion Bayley opened the episode with a promo about her match with Sasha Banks at NXT Takeover: Respect. Bayley said that the show made history. She said that she wants women’s wrestling to be respected and that the NXT women’s division has been validated. This led to Alexis Bliss walking down to the ring with Blake and Murphy. Bliss said what Bayley did last week was great. Bliss grabbed the title and said that they won’t be sharing this title because she wants it too. She said that Bayley is not meant to be champion. She then threw it in Bayley’s face. Bliss would then walk away.
Samoa Joe is shown talking with Finn Balor and William Regal backstage. Joe wants a title shot, and Balor is willing to give him one. However, Regal thought otherwise and booked a number one contenders battle royal for a shot at the NXT Title.
-Commercial Break-
Non-Title Match: The Vaudevillians vs. Sawyer Fulton and Angelo Dawkins.
Dawkins and English start the match off. English with a series of arm drags. Dawkins pushed English back into his corner and started putting the boots to him. Moments later, English fought back and hit his finisher for the win.
Winners: English and Gotch
-Commercial Break-
Highlights of Asuka beating Dana Brooke at NXT Takeover: Respect. There is footage of Asuka mocking Brooke as she was seen by a doctor.
Singles Match: Nia Jax vs. Evie.
Evie tried to run the ropes, but Jax caught her and locked in a bear hug. Evie attempted to fight out, but Jax rammed her into the corner and hit a back splash. Jax with a one arm slam for the win.
Winner: Jax.
-Commercial Break-
Number one contender’s battle royal to earn a future NXT Title Shot (Samoa Joe, Tyler Breeze, Rhyno, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Big Cass, Enzo, Mojo Rawley, Zack Ryder, and many others.)
A brawl breaks out between all of the men.
Danny Burch, Elias Sampson, and Johnny Carino were thrown out by Apollo Crews. We cut to a commercial break.
Once back from break, things are starting to break down. Enzo kicked someone out, but then Dash Wilder tossed him out. Enzo Amore was thrown out by Dalton. Bull tossed him out right away. Corbin and Bull started exchanging right hands. Rhyno sent Bull out of the ring. Corbin sent Rawley over the top rope. Ryder caught Corbin with a flying forearm shot. Corbin sent Ryder over the top rope and to the floor. Corbin then landed a series of right hands to Rhyno and tossed him to the floor.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with only six men left. Joe tossed Blake and Murphy over the top rope. Joe with a series of right hands to Breeze. He kicked Breeze over the top rope and to the floor. Joe with a series of rights to Corbin. He kicked Crews and Corbin in the head. Joe went for the muscle buster on Corbin, but blocked. Joe with a kick to the face of Corbin. Breeze dragged Joe out of the ring. Corbin tossed Crews over the top rope, but crws held on. Crews with a big clothesline and then went for a moonsault, but Corbin put his knees up. Crews with a series of kicks to the head of Corbin. Crews clotheslined Corbin out of the ring and to the floor.
Winner: Crews.
Crews celebrated in the ring to close the show.
