Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
WWE MAIN EVENT
- Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil defeated Eric Young and Mojo Rawley
- Cesaro defeated Zack Ryder
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- The Viking Raiders defeated The O.C.’s Gallows and Anderson by pinfall.
- EC3 tapped out to Rusev’s Accolade.
- Sasha Banks defeated women’s tag team champion Nikki Cross by submission.
- Lacey Evans beat Ember Moon by submission with a Sharpshooter to further her feud with Natalya.
- Carmella pinned R-Truth to win the 24/7 Championship. Their friendship is still in tact. The women’s roster then came out to chase Carmella and R-Truth helped her escape.
- Chad Gable defeated King Baron Corbin by disqualification after Corbin hit Gable with his new scepter to avoid submitting to an ankle lock.
- Rey Mysterio defeated AJ Styles, Ricochet, Robert Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Fatal 5-Way elimination match to earn a shot at the Universal Championship for next week’s Raw.
- Bray Wyatt interrupted the main event of Seth Rollins vs. Braun Strowman by attacking The Monster Among Men to send a message to the champion.
WWE SMACKDOWN LIVE
- Daniel Bryan interrupted Erick Rowan’s opening promo to challenge him to a match, but lost to Rowan by pinfall. After the match, Rowan and Luke Harper fought with Bryan and Roman Reigns. They fought off The Bludgeon Brothers and Bryan grabbed a microphone to ask the WWE Universe if they would like to see them team up against Rowan and Harper to a resounding “Yes!” and a full-fledged babyface turn.
- Chad Gable quickly made Mike Kanellis tap out to an ankle lock after the latter interrupted his promo on King Corbin. Elias then showed up on the TitanTron to sing a song making fun of Gable’s height.
- Bayley and Sasha Banks defeated Carmella and Charlotte Flair by submission when Banks made Carmella tap out. R-Truth then helped Carmella escape losing the 24/7 Championship, which opened an opportunity for Banks and Bayley to double-team Flair until Becky Lynch made the save.
- Shinsuke Nakamura beat Ali by pinfall.
- The New Day beat The B-Team by pinfall.
- The Kabuki Warriors took out Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville by pinfall.
- Kevin Owens challenged Shane McMahon to a career vs. career ladder match for next week’s SmackDown debut on Fox.
WWE 205 LIVE
- Humberto Carrillo defeated Angel Garza by pinfall.
- Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch beat cruiserweight champion Drew Gulak and Tony Nese by pinfall.
NXT UK
- Ligero defeated Oliver Carter by pinfall.
- Tyler Bate cut a promo on how he’s far from done in NXT UK. Jordan Devlin interrupted.
- Nina Samuels defeated Dani Luna by pinfall.
- Noam Dar defeated Trent Seven by disqualification due to Seven ignoring the referee’s count.
- NXT UK will be moving to Thursdays at 3pm ET, 8pm BST starting next week.
NXT
- Keith Lee beat Dominik Dijakovic by pinfall.
- Dakota Kai returned to action, defeating Taynara by pinfall. She is no longer “Taynara Conti” anymore.
- Matt Riddle defeated Killian Dain in their Street Fight by submission to earn a title shot against Adam Cole for next week.
- Rhea Ripley defeated Kayden Carter (formerly known as Lacey Lane) by pinfall.
- Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch defeated Chase Parker and Matt Martel (now known as the team Ever-Rise) by pinfall.
- Cameron Grimes defeated Raul Mendoza by pinfall.
- Kushida and Breezango beat Imperium’s Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, and Alexander Wolfe by pinfall before Kushida was laid out by WALTER.
NEWS, RUMORS AND MISCELLANEOUS OTHER INFORMATION
- It was confirmed that WWE Backstage will air on FS1 Tuesdays at 11pm, hosted by Renee Young and Booker T.
- The Raw commentary team will be moved over to SmackDown next week. The new Raw commentary team will consist of Vic Joseph, Dio Maddin and Jerry “The King” Lawler. Mickie James may replace Lawler soon.
- Steve Austin indicated that he could wrestle one more match.
- Tucker’s car was broken into and his ring gear was stolen.
- John Morrison has reportedly signed a contract with WWE.
- CM Punk may return to WWE (or at least, WWE via Fox) for WWE Backstage after having met for a test run.
- Rusev is now an American citizen.
- Edge is leaving E&C’s Pod of Awesomeness.
- Crown Jewel has been confirmed for October 31, 2019.
