A source within WWE has said that the company was not pleased with the growth of the business under Stephanie McMahon’s time as Chief Brand Officer.
Last month, McMahon announced that she was taking a leave of absence from the majority of her roles with WWE and will be spending more time with her family.
Speaking to Business Insider, the unnamed source explained that there was growing resentment in the company towards Stephanie.
“Family or not family, we’ve got to get the right people in place. We weren’t seeing that growth. When someone is moved out of a company, it’s usually the result of something not working. We took stronger control of that a few months ago.”
The majority of Stephanie’s roles are reported to be taken over by WWE President Nick Khan.
There’s no timeline for when McMahon is expected back but it is said to not be anytime soon.
