AEW has plenty of announcers for their four shows (Dark, Dark: Elevation, Dynamite, and Rampage), with Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz, Jim Ross, Paul Wight, and Chris Jericho serving as the commentary team. William Regal, Caprice Coleman, and others also make regular appearances at the desk.
One notable name not currently calling wrestling is former NXT/SmackDown announcer Mauro Ranallo, who left WWE in 2020. He has continued to call boxing and MMA fights.
Ranallo was on commentary for the title vs. title match between Kenny Omega and Rich Swann last year for Impact Wrestling.
Dave Meltzer was asked about whether or not AEW had considered bringing in Ranallo. He noted that AEW and Ranallo’s management did have talks.
