Mark Briscoe recently suffered a knee injury that will require him to undergo surgery, and Fightful Select is reporting that the injury will likely shelve him for the remainder of the year.

Briscoe was originally scheduled to face Claudio Castagnoli at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023. However, he will no longer be able to compete in that matchup.

Pro Wrestling NOAH announced that Will Ospreay will face former GHC Heavyweight Champion Naomichi Marufuji at the promotion’s 25th-anniversary show on September 17 at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Ospreay tweeted,

“This means more to me than anyone will ever understand. I’m honored to step foot on the Ark and face my hero Marufuji San. September 17th. @noah_marufuji_/ @noah_ghc”

On the latest edition of his “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Matt Hardy addressed the possibility of a potential reunion show for his former indie promotion, OMEGA. He said,

“I don’t think in the immediate future, there’s any talks of being an OMEGA return show or an OMEGA reunion. Is that something I could see happening down the road? Yeah, I think so. Just right now, especially with these four young kids, my life is a whirlwind where every moment is accounted for, and on top of my AEW gig, we still try and do some bookings on the weekends to cons more than anything else. Now, Jeff isn’t wrestling on indies. He’s only doing signings as of right now. So yeah, it’s just a lot of work, you know, and I feel like if we’re going to do one of those things, we’re going to try and do it right. I just don’t physically have the time to be able to do it and do it right currently.”

On this week’s episode of AEW Rampage, Willow Nightingale defeated ROH Women’s World Champion Athena to advance to the finals of the Owen Hart Cup Tournament. AEW released a backstage promo clip of Renee Paquette interviewing Nightingale following the match. Willow was interrupted by Athena, and Willow laid her out.

Willow Nightingale will face Ruby Soho in the finals of the women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament tonight on AEW Collision.

Minoru Suzuki will be the guest on Sunday’s edition of Hey! (EW) with host RJ City.
