Sammy Guevara has been absent from AEW television for several weeks because the company has suspended him after a scary incident involving Jeff Hardy during a No DQ Match on a recent episode of AEW Rampage.
Guevara was suspended due to his failure to follow the concussion protocol. The duration of the suspension and the date of his return remain uncertain.
During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that AEW initially intended to pair Chris Jericho with Guevara in the Tag Team Title tournament to determine the new champions. Those plans were nixed due to the suspension.
