AEW’s Rey Fenix has been out of action due to an injury for several months.
In the AEW World Tag Team Fatal-Four Way Number One Contender Match at WrestleDream 2023, Fenix was only able to wrestle for a short period of time before being escorted backstage.
However, despite his injury, Fenix went on to compete in two additional matches. One of those matches ended with him losing the AEW International Championship to Orange Cassidy on October 10.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that, “Even though Rey Fenix was on television with Penta last week, he’s pretty banged up and not expected back that soon.”
