Disco Inferno – ‘AEW Dropped The Ball With Swerve Strickland’

The booking of AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has been far from impressive, according to pro wrestling veteran Disco Inferno.

Strickland dethroned Samoa Joe to win the title at AEW Dynasty, becoming the first African American AEW World Champion.

On a recent edition of the “Keepin’ It 100” podcast, Disco shared how he feels AEW has gone wrong since Strickland’s victory. He said,

“I think they dropped the ball with Swerve the first night when he won the championship and his appearance on the very next show was just a random match against Kyle Fletcher. No promo, no nothing. It just shows, like bro, Tony has no clue how to build stars. Okay, he gives a guy the big win but like you need to move up the card, and like every company has issues with this, with building stars.”

Strickland will defend his AEW World Championship tonight at AEW Double or Nothing against Christian Cage in one of three main events of the show.
