Could Shelton Benjamin bring his decades of experience in the wrestling business to All Elite Wrestling? Jim Ross certainly hopes so.
Benjamin was released from WWE in September 2023. His most recent run with WWE saw the Gold Standard hold the 24/7 and RAW Tag Team Championships.
On a recent edition of his “Grilling JR” podcast, Ross spoke about Shelton potentially making the move to AEW. He said,
“Shelton would be a credit to anybody’s locker room. I am not aware of what his plans are. If he’s a free agent, I’d love to see him get a shot at doing something in AEW. I can see some great matches with Shelton and Bryan Danielson and others, many others, Ospreay. Shelton is just a gifted athlete. He just didn’t have the greatest personality for a TV performer as one might prefer.”
Benjamin has competed just one time since his WWE release. That match was for WWC in March 2024 and saw the former Superstar defeat Gilbert.
