Adam Copeland kicked off Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision with the “Cope Open” and the returning Matt Cardona answered the challenge.
Copeland retained his TNT Championship after nailing Cardona with a lethal spear.
Following the match, Malakai Black appeared to confront Copeland, leading to Buddy Matthews blindsiding the champion. Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe both made the save.
Cardona last wrestled for AEW in 2020, after a brief run that saw him teaming with Cody Rhodes against the Dark Order.
Copeland is in his second TNT Title reign and has held the gold for 11 days.
