Ryan Nemeth isn’t willing to say much about his infamous tweet about CM Punk in which he dubbed the ex-AEW wrestler the softest man alive.

Nemeth’s comment came after Punk returned to AEW programming in the summer of 2023 which saw the Best in the World make comments seemingly aimed at The Elite.

On a recent edition of the “WrestleBinge” podcast, Nemeth was asked about his tweet about Punk. He said,

“There’s some things I can talk about and some things I can’t talk about. The top good guy on the TV show was missing for eight months after what I was told was a tricep injury and on his first night back called someone ‘soft.’ And so I thought, ‘I’m a heel. This is a babyface. We both work for the same wrestling company. He gets injured more than anyone who’s ever wrestled and his first night back called someone ‘soft.’

“Anything beyond that I’m not safely able to talk about … but I think that’s a very reasonable thing for a s***-talking bad guy heel to say in response to the heroic babyface who seemed to be a little hypocritical.”

The comment by Nemeth led to Punk confronting him at an AEW Collision taping and aggressively asked Ryan if they needed to settle things ‘outside.’

Punk was fired from AEW following his backstage fight with Jack Perry at All In 2023 that was broadcast on a recent episode of Dynamite. He returned to WWE in November 2023.
