The Ratings Breakdown For AEW Dynamite (5/22/24)

The latest episode of AEW Dynamite saw an increase in viewership, with over 700,000 viewers, and a rise in the key 18-49 demographic.

AEW Dynamite garnered 713,000 viewers, with a 0.24 rating in the 18-49 key demo and a 0.18 rating in the 18-34 key demo.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shared a comprehensive breakdown of the viewership numbers, including a quarter-by-quarter analysis.

AEW Dynamite ranked #6 for the night and #3 in its time slot. It was surpassed by the NBA game between Minnesota and Dallas on TNT, which drew 6,818,000 viewers with a rating of 2.40, as well as the Florida vs. New York Rangers NHL game on ESPN, which attracted 1,984,000 viewers with a 0.61 rating. Additionally, TNT’s Rich & Shameless about Brett Favre outperformed Dynamite, garnering 831,000 viewers with a 0.29 rating.

In comparison to the previous week, AEW Dynamite experienced a 6.1% increase in viewership, a 7% increase in the 18-49 demographic, and a substantial 53.7% increase in the 18-34 demographic.

However, compared to the previous year, viewership decreased by 15.7%, the 18-49 demographic by 24.4%, and the 18-34 demographic by 28%.

AEW Dynamite attracted 62,000 viewers in the male 18-34 demographic, marking a 31.9% increase, and 64,000 viewers in the female 18-34 demographic, reflecting an 82.9% increase.

However, there was a 7.5% decrease in the male 35-49 demographic, with 135,000 viewers, and a 17.1% decrease in the female 35-49 demographic, with 58,000 viewers.

The audience in the 18-49 demographic was predominantly male, comprising 61.8% of the viewers.

It is worth noting that in the 18-34 demographic, there were more female viewers than male viewers, a rare occurrence for AEW.

Moreover, the viewership of the male 18-34 demographic increased throughout the show, starting at 48,000 and reaching 87,000.

Conversely, the female 18-34 demographic started at 74,000 and declined to 48,000.

The male 35-49 demographic started at 120,000, peaked at 156,000 in the fifth quarter, and ended at 128,000. On the other hand, the female 35-49 demographic started at 70,000 and ended at 61,000.
