AEW star Chris Jericho has revealed the nickname he has used for Triple H during their tenure in WWE together.
Jericho joined WWE (then WWF) in 1999 and would capture the WWF Championship from Triple H in 2000, though the win was later redacted.
During his appearance on the “True Gordie” podcast, Jericho spoke about his relationship with ‘The Game’ and the regnal name he has for him:
“I used to call Triple H ‘Prince Charles.’ Prince Charles [isn’t] king, right, until the Queen passes away. And she’s been there 30, 40 years. She ain’t going anywhere. Triple H is the Prince Charles of wrestling, in that he’s supposed to take it over, but it might be a long time.
“I think Vince [McMahon] is 78, so it could be another 20 years. And he’s not going anywhere. I don’t think Vince will ever give up the throne.”
While McMahon has since stepped down as CEO and Chairman of WWE, he is expected to resume those duties depending on the result of the ongoing investigation into him.
In his place, Stephanie McMahon has assumed the roles instead of her husband.
