Alex Wright Open To Rematch With ROH Champion Chris Jericho

Fans of a certain vintage may remember Alex Wright as “Das Wunderkind” of WCW’s Cruiserweight division during the mid to late 1990s. Wright became part of World Championship Wrestling in 1994, and after some seasoning at the Power Plant, became a mainstay on WCW television through the rest of the decade. Wright turned heel in 1997, and it was then that he would first taste championship gold, defeating Chris Jericho for the Cruiserweight Championship on a July episode of Monday Night Nitro.

Wright hasn’t been seen on an American wrestling program since WCW folded in 2001, but that doesn’t mean his memory has faded in the minds of his fans. And while Wright might not be as high-profile as he was in his heyday, he has kept active. He’s worked as a fitness instructor, and he opened his own wrestling school in 2009. So it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to see the Wunderkind back in the ring again, as suggested today by a Twitter user.

A fan on Twitter suggested that Wright run back his classic feud with current ROH World Champion Chris Jericho, to which Wright had a reply.
