Although Athena has been the face of Ring of Honor since becoming the Women’s World Champion, she isn’t ruling out holding AEW gold.
The former Ember Moon made her most recent title defense at Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view event, where she retained over Willow Nightingale.
Athena says she has her sights set on breaking Kris Statlander’s TBS Championship at All In 2023 next month.
“That’s a match that I’ve wanted for a while,” Athena said in an interview with Steve Fall on Ten Count. “Even watching from home before I got signed to AEW/ROH, Statlander is that woman. She’s more than a woman. Someone that was my sister from another mister when I first got here. I love Kris Statlander, and I would love to break her face and steal her TBS Championship.”
