The narrative began with Theory’s theft of Cleopatra’s Egg, a stunt that was part of a promotional tie-in with the movie Red Notice, which starred Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who presented the egg to McMahon.
The storyline continued at the 2021 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event, with a number of backstage segments featuring Theory, McMahon, and the egg. Reflecting on the experience during an interview with Fightful, the United States Champion expressed his disappointment in not yet receiving a replica of the golden egg as a memento, which was reportedly worth $100 million. He said,
“I have not gotten my golden egg. I haven’t. I don’t know how it hasn’t happened. Dude, I need my golden egg. If you interview me next year and I don’t have it, it’s a big problem. Give me my egg. It was a $100 million egg. I just want a prop replica.”
